M10 2025 Freakout Thread!

Lol I live across the country.

All of my interviews were online and in the morning, guess one of them was just having a bad day lol

I feel like everyone I see applying is local, finally seeing a few like me :sob:

fr tho homebohy

Joining as a junior sounds difficult though
Would it be bad to continue at the school you’re at currently?

I agree 100%! one of my interviewers and i spent a good 20 minutes just talking about our starbucks orders. now i know her daughter’s entire drink order HAHA

One of the longest 1 month of our life. Can’t wait for March 10th

real… I just want it to be over. We’re over halfway there

True. Good luck to everyone!!

It may seem difficult but sometimes you really just need a change in environment in order to thrive! Plus boarding schools also offer a lot more course options/ opportunities that would be helpful for 11th/12th graders even if we would be entering later!

I got even worse in the low low 60’s, but I do VERY well academically and have good grades . But on the bright side my interviews went really really well! Even the admissions officers were very complimentary of me and my dad started tearing up(very embarrassing) this was at taft (he is also a legacy!) And one of the people on the admissions team there was in the same grade as him, so that was also really cool. (sorry i’m actually writing entire my life story on this thread!!) I also got to meet with the headmistress there bc she started a bible study/youth group in my town that i have been participating in for 3 years! Anyway, I’m applying to hill, taft, Lville, and SAS. I have pretty solid connections to all of them so thats kinda why my list is small and why i picked those school. Good luck to everyone!!!

My school is good but it’s really small (regarded as the best chart-school in my county). We are also about to face budget cuts for the next year so the already limited STEM programs are under review right now. I would also like to expand and meet some more people from different places!

eyyyy!

I can relate to the test score part. I do well academically but I suck at taking test (I have to work harder for the SAT tho). I get really nervous about my answer and the timer makes me feel rushed. Believe me when I say I am really good at math and see it be my weak area on a test :face_holding_back_tears:

Totally get it!! same here🥲

u go to basis??

no, we don’t have one

Is anyone else hoping for acceptances on M10 while simultaneously going through the 8th grade to 9th grade transition process at their LPS? It’s killing me. I feel like I can’t commit to either.

Deadlines for selection of classes at my LPS are only a couple of days after M10. Some of the auditions for ensembles are even in February. The timing is unfortunate- it’s because my local district is so great that very few people even apply to private schools. First world problems lol, but imagine rationalizing it to your parents- “hey mom, I know you’ve been paying 20 years of mortgage in this town so that I can go to the local high school, but would you consider letting me go this other school where you’ll have to pay an additional 50k a year?”

I go to basis!
