Any PGs into Exeter and for which sport? We’re on the waitlist; given the very low #s who come off and the specifics of PGs and sports, I’m wondering if it’s pretty much a lost cause?

However, if you have something new to offer that wasn’t part of your original application, that would be more meaningful.

scrolling down there are share, bookmark, flag and reply buttons. Clicking reply will allow you to post without replying. I don’t thnk they release # of wl students.

i don’t think anyone really knows how many, but probably no more than 40, given the number of spots. i was also placed on the waitlist

They had a post today on Instagram that indicates they are sending some boxes.
im on 3 waitlists, i was told at the beginning of this process by a teacher at exeter that when you’re on the waitlist it just means they’re gaging your interest and will let you in if you say you’ll go. based off of the letters from schools i got, and people in this thread, im now thinking what he said is not correct… is there any truth to that?
I think that’s wrong. I feel like theres little to no chance of being removed from the waitlist for most students.

I am sorry, but I think the person misspoke. Yes, they will gauge your interest through the waitlist process, but the information that can be found in the waitlist section details the reality and opportunity. It really comes down to how the schools fill there spots with those that they accepted and what their need is afterwards. it changing from year to year.

What are the pros and cons of each school?
I decided to apply to boarding schools on January 2nd, and then I really locked in, studying really hard for SSAT and then writing essays in the three days after that. The online SSAT practice was a huge help, and I only ended up taking one test.
My public speaking and experience talking to adults helped a lot with interviews, except for Hotchkiss. I just couldn’t connect with the interviewer. Even during my Andover interview, I struggled to articulate what I liked most about the school.
I love creative writing, and I’ve written a lot of applications recently. For Exeter and SPS, I wrote essays about overcoming difficulties. My Exeter essay was especially challenging. I think my Hotchkiss essay didn’t work because I didn’t include my struggles and just tried to flatter the school without focusing on myself.
I feel incredibly fortunate, and I give all the glory to God.
