So where did you get in?
Pros:
- SPS: Offered an exceptionally generous financial aid package.
- Exeter: My dream school for the past year.
- Both: Better niche opportunities as well as direct support and mentorship. Harkness :)!
Cons:
- Leaving my current school means giving up confirmed and potential leadership positions in clubs. I’m unsure how significant this is.
- Leaving my current friends and siblings (who are very important to me) will be difficult, especially since I moved just this year which had a heavy toll.
exeter and sps!
Ok this makes sense. And which of the two schools have the most pros?
thank you sm!! you too, you deserve it from all the hard work you have put it
that really means a lot :). where did you get in?
im not sure
if it weren’t for sps financial aid and interest, full exeter (really like the exonian too forgot to mention)
but also it’s really a decision for my family to make and for now i’m just celebrating!
Thanks!
loomis and deerfield! leaning more towards loomis right now lol
What ever you decide everything will work out in the end!!
other than awards won etc, does anybody who maybe got off a waitlist have any advice on how to get in? i’m heartbroken and just really want to go for it and i feel like i should be doing something.
Please read that waitlist thread very carefully. I promise that every question you are asking as well as every question you might ask is answered there. Everything from what to say and when to say it.
And for those of you who are on the WL without any acceptances, it can be helpful to let the WL schools know your situation. They will understand that you will be likely to say yes if offered a spot.
While most schools will not pull extensively from their WL, it is pretty common for them to take a few at the end of the process to complete their class. With that said, if you have acceptances, focus on those schools. They saw something in you and they think you’ll thrive there. Figure out how you will and return the love! No point pining for some other school.
My son got accepted to Groton.
Same
I’m so sorry to hear. I know that doesn’t help at all, but you seemed to really deserve to get into one of your schools of choice. I hope the world makes more sense a few months from now when you figure out why this is your path right now.
i feel like this is happening to a lot of people (myself included) this year… i hope a school gives you an offer!
Can someone repost the WL Thread link?
waitlisted at Taft (crushed) and trying to learn more of what, if anything can be done to help the cause
