Nobody has brought up Peggy’s - umm, indiscretion - at the movie theater? What was that all about?

Peggy tried to “Don” the Heinz guy into liking her pitch.
She is acting like Don by having anonymous meaningless sex at “Born Free.”
Early morning booty phone to Abe, asking him to come over for sex.
She is trying to be Don but failing.

2musica-Bert has worn a Neru jacket, goes with his Zen vibe
But that was a knee jerk answer.
With a closer review of past episodes I could be wrong.
Too much good TV on now and little time to do a fine tooth comb search for the episode he wore it.
But if anyone has the time…

OH----I missed that! Looks like a need a “review”.

So…THIS was an interesting episode–surprised nobody has talkled about it yet. The shot of everyone sitting at the banquet table with their various demons… Sally’s discovery. The “living in sin” Still trying to wrap my head around everything that was going on.

This is my favorite TV reviewer. I love reading the insightful comments, many from TV biz insiders. He does great reviews of Breaking Bad, too!

I want to watch the two most recent episodes again. The conversation among the Slate reviewers aways makes me realize that I missed some nuances.

I loved the moments between Sally and Don–both when she appeared in go-go boots and makeup and later when he told her how proud he was of his beautiful daughter. And wasn’t Kiernan Shipka excellent in this episode?

Roger just makes me sad for some reason. John Slattery plays him to perfection. And Megan’s parents–where do I begin? We understand so much more about Megan now, and I suspect there’s more to come.

John Slattery is an amazing actor, I am coming to realize.

Combine Megans Marxist Dad with her desire to please him…do you get the impression that she may rat out a less than savory client? (at the ad agency in the '79/'80 and this happened)

And yes, John Slattery ROCKS.

Julia Ormond’s French is so good that I constantly get her confused with Juliette Binoche.

Does anyone wonder how they explain the details to the young actress regarding what she walking in on with Roger? Just curious. Sure, I get that 12 year-old have heard of these types of things, but do they say, “Okay, you walk in on … and your reaction will be such-and-such?”

…just can’t imagine her mom reading that script.

I know, from very direct sources, that the actress who plays Sally only does her scenes. Her parents don’t allow her to see the show in total nor does she read the entire script. I strongly suspect that these scenes were edited so make it seem as if she saw something…director’s saying (for example) you see something that makes you upset. Cut to Roger…or editing.

After giving it much thought, what I found most ‘shocking’ in the entire episode (which I loved) was when Don was told that none of those industry titans will do business with him again because of the Lucky Strike letter. My question is what is he going to do to pull himself out of the hole he’s made for himself (and everyone else at the firm)? Should be interesting. Either he will pull a rabbit out of the hat or this is the beginning of the end for him. The entire show was originally based on the premise that he was a genius, a wonder boy.

Don’s roles seem to be reversing. His business image seems to be falling, but for the time being, he has become a faithful husband and dutiful father. Will he turn his business image around, probably.

“Don was told that none of those industry titans will do business with him again because of the Lucky Strike letter.”

Finally, we have the crisis point for this season, which so far dad seemed episodic without an overall narrative.

What does Don need to do to get his mojo back? Perhaps the initial image of the show…a man falling…says something. Or, to extract “revenge” on his wife for becoming successful …he will revert to old habits.

As for Peter Campbell…when will his wife find out that Peggy’s son is Peter’s son?

Only this season and one more left…PLEASE Matt Weiner commit to several more.

Last episode Don was surprisingly supportive of his wife’s contributions and made sure she got credit. The episode before that he wouldn’t let her order her own meal. Oh, those turbulent 60s.

“As for Peter Campbell…when will his wife find out that Peggy’s son is Peter’s son?”

When Peggy and Abe told her mother they were living together, who didn’t expect mom to spill the beans on the baby? I recall she thought it’s Draper’s because of his visit to Peggy in the hospital–season 2.

Mom also made the interesting comment that he’s with Peggy for the fun but will marry a Jewish girl. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s something in that.

I loved the crack about getting three cats in your lifetime and hen you’re done.

I am enjoying this season immensely - especially now that I have people with whom I can rehash the episodes. :)
