We saw it in the portal. My d25 also received a notification email, I believe, but not sure. Since she declined the acceptance, we can no longer see the acceptance or the merit info anymore.
How long have you been waiting after acceptance? It seems most merit awards here were made to students a few weeks after acceptance, but in my daughter’s case she was accepted 9/23 and didn’t receive merit award/notification until 11/26 so over 2 months post-acceptance.
So my son’s merit is only showing in his documents email. It is not showing under awards yet. Is anyone else’s students merit award showing under awards?
Sorry. Where do you see awards? Is this the applicant portal?
This is how the student portal looks like for us.
So my son has a page like that from the email link however he has a portal that has many links and tabs. There is an awards tab which is where I believe all awards merit and financial should be listed. There will be an accept or decline buttons for all awards and available loans.
Just click on the “VIEW YOUR SCHOLARDSHIP LETTER”.
Based on last year following this with my S24 they seem to cap IS merit to 10k per year and OOS at 20k to offset the much higher OOS tuition. Unless of course you get one of the very few full rides which is few and far between. Good luck to all.
Anyone know whether Chancellor scholarship invites have been sent out yet?
When do you hear abt merit? My son has been admitted since Dec. no word as of yet
i spoke with admissions this week…they release in tranches throughout the open application period, and my officer said they are typically finished by mid-march. but i have also heard merit releases as late as april in the past. just gotta hang in there for a bit longer…my daughter who is accepted and with frederick honors has no merit thus far and has seen classmates accepted but rejected from frederick, but received merit. just sharing what i can. good luck!
Thank you so much. You too
Not yet but coming soon per a post on another site.
Does anyone know if Pitt has released the updated 2025 Fall tuition rates. The website shows only 2024-2025. S25 has not received any merit aid for Swanson Eng, OOS. it is around 64k for 00S but would likely increase for Fall 2025 just as Penn state raised its rates. RPI added more merit to my kid bringing it to around 49k. Seriously debating if Pitt is worth the full price without knowing if the price is going to increase more for Fall 2025.
I haven’t seen 2025–2026 rates yet, but it might help to look at College Navigator’s multiyear tuition estimator (National Center for Education Statistics). It will give estimates based on past tuition hikes: College Navigator - University of Pittsburgh-Pittsburgh Campus
I have a current first year student at Pitt and last year when I inquired about this exact issue, I was told that the Board of trustees will not approve the tuition until July. I expect that will be the case this year, especially in the current environment.
Thanks. But it is ridiculous when they want us to commit without knowing the actual COA! All other schools have disclosed their 2025 Fall rates from those we have applied. it is already high for O0S for among public universities!
Really? Public schools? Most don’t announce the 25/26 tuition until at least the spring, they have to get their budget from the state which usually happens in spring/summer. Having students at 5 different publics, estimate 4/5% raise in tuition and room/board. I just checked Rutgers, July. UDel also. BU is private, they release the end of March 2025, they don’t need to wait for the state annual budget I guess.
Penn State has updated 2025 Fall rates. Pitt website shows 2024-2025…not sure if it applies to Fall 2025 admission. Rutgers just informed us COA for fall 2025. MSU has provided us COA too. Anyway, I am going to assume 5-6% increased in my decision making process.!
I always was under the impression that those are estimates and reflect 24/25 tuition. I have a college senior graduating, but I don’t know what tuition is going to be for my junior in the fall, only know what I paid last fall and this spring. They can bill us until the state budgets are done.
Good to know… I didn’t realize it being the first year with kids applying to college. At least with private institutions, they break down this year and expected prices next 3 years. Helps in financial planning for sure to have that information prior to committing to any college
