Name A Product You Don’t Get The Hype About

You can also ask: which of the two is more likely to have “Truck Nuts” hanging from the rear?

I always look to see the condition of the truck. If it shows wear, had a dirty and scratched bed, etc, it’s a work truck, no matter the size. However if it’s a large truck, and it’s clean and mostly unscratched, it’s an “Emotional Support” truck, so to speak…

Okay. I’m on board the ‘don’t get it’ when it comes to truffle fries. Or truffle anything. I’ve tried fries, chips and oil. And they all leave a very strange after taste (I think of dirty socks - and no I haven’t actually tried to taste those !).

I had the most amazing truffle pasta at a monastery in Norcia 20 years ago… I keep trying truffle things to recapture that flavor but I have not found it. The sisters had harvested the truffles the day before

I think the term is “inversely endowed…”

I love truffle anything. Not hype. Truffle is a heavenly, delectable flavor.

What I have learned from this thread is that we all have different tastes, needs (for me a good hair dryer ) , preferences, etc. Like most people, there are things I have strong preferences about and things I could not care less about. Doesn’t mean anyone is right or wrong.

But interesting to read everyone’s thumbs-up/thumbs-down!

Piggybacking on the mention of the color gray:

All White Kitchens. Never liked them, never will. Too sterile-looking, IMO. I don’t mind a light wood or painted cabinet kitchen, just not white.

Also, open concept homes. I have one. My husband is a homebuilder, and he has designed and built many. It’s what people want. I don’t like them. I don’t want people hovering in my kitchen at parties. I don’t like having to hush a conversation when someone is watching TV in an adjacent room. I don’t like a dining room with a table that’s just kind of floating in a big open space. I’m low key trying to start a movement to bring back homes with traditional defined rooms with four walls (the rooms can still be large). My husband is not convinced

I think I’m with you on the open concept homes. I haven’t lived in one, but I like at least walls between some rooms, and I imagine them being pretty noisy.

One issue with open concept homes is that you have way fewer walls on which to hang artwork. We have a ton of gorgeous stuff in our basement, and no place to put it.

(Of course, if this is the worst problem in your life, you’re doing pretty well.)

Make a hanging wall of art?

Ours isn’t really an open concept home…but we have a closet that has at least a dozen nice frames things. I just rotate the artwork periodically.

All Clad. We have it and we do like it… but there are so many other good quality stainless cookware at a fraction of the cost.

It’s funny you write this, I was just thinking I REALLY want an All Clad stockpot!!! And then I went to their website and saw the prices. On the other hand there are some used ones on ebay (as well as cheaper knock offs from china).

Low profile tires. It is difficult to find a sedan (my husbands preference) that has regular tires. He drives a lot for work and has way too many flat tires. Low profile tires are too fragile and cannot be swapped out for regular tires on his car because the wheel well won’t accommodate the larger size.

Matching travel sets for women. I’m sure they are comfortable but they look like pajamas to me.

Airpods. I hate that people wear them everywhere but they aren’t noticeable and you go to talk to someone not realizing they are on the phone. They also seem to be easily lost and stupidly expensive.

I have always disliked open concept homes. Recently I have been seeing reference on social media for moving back to rooms with walls/separate spaces.

Check out a Cuisinart stock pot. Very similar. Tramontina too. I just got a Tramontina saucepan that is the same guava as my all clad for a fraction of the price!

@skieurope, I don’t drink a lot of mix drinks. I do have a cosmo every once in a while, and I could tell the difference between Cointreau vs triple sec in the drink.
My brother is particular about the gin in gin and tonic.
