This is probably the wrong board, but -
This is a tough decision; please help me out.

Today I got a letter in the mail from Mercersburg Academy (Boarding school, PA) for the second year. Last year, I was unable to apply due to SSAT deadlines.
The school I’m currently enrolled in is a public, new, and uncompetitive to the max. People dont care here. Its a beautiful campus, and has nice teachers; but coursewise - NO. It’s restricting to say the least. Unless there are huge improvements, I don’t see this school doing all that well academically. Of course, I may be wrong - but its simply an assumption jugding upon observation. But, in a way, I may be advantaged:
- Form Clubs
- Run for student council
- Small pond.

For those of you who know me better, at least on this board, you would know what type of person I am. If you do not, please check my posting history.

Now, looking to Mercersburg. What is your opinion of this school? My chances? (Assuming I will do fairly well on the SSAT.) All pretentiousness aside, I will write a killer essay. My teachers seem to like me as well. I would need to register for the SSAT; I’ve only taken the old version. Is the experience worth the $? All I’ll say, is right now I’m looking at the courses and its mouth-watering Mercersburg has sent many students to the Ivies, and apparently has a history with Princeton.

Now weighing the advantages and disadvantages of each… your opinion?
