On OSU website - in the “BuckeyeBot” box - asked for status of Deferred & RD applications.
“ Regular Decision freshman and Deferred autumn applicants will receive their admission decision by the end of March “
Only 9 more days to end the insanity

I’m out of state and my AO said all decisions will be released March 25th (which I think I remember seeing on their website at some point).

OOS RD here. First got an accept on 2/18 and another accept to the Engineering Scholars program on 3/21.
High stats, but unfortunately Ohio State offers zero merit, while CWRU offers enough to bring the cost lower than in-state Virginia Tech (which also offers merit but low; can apply for more as a sophomore).
In sum, there are 2 dates for all RD, 2/18 and 3/25, not divided by OOS vs IS.

Mine was early action acceptance and scholars program as well. And still no merit or grants. And we do not have a high EFC. Still OSU is her first choice and the only school to not give her money. Even UIUC did and we are in state for that. It’s truly frustrating.

1/25 deferred folks, how we feeling? Do we think we get a decision on 3/25 with RD or after?

I believe that everyone hears back a decision tomorrow whether it is accepted, denied, or waitlisted

Sending you TONS of positive vibes! My son is part of the deferred 1/25 crew and to OSU, I say “thank you”. Thank you for putting us through this–it forced my son to look at schools he had applied to but was unsure about. Fortunately last week he went to visit one, stepped on campus, and said “THIS is it!” And committed the next day. He is on his senior Disney trip and will be tomorrow when the decision comes out (or is SUPPOSED to come out?). I have no doubt he’ll be checking his portal, but whatever the decision is, we are at peace.

We are in the exact same boat. We visited OSU this fall and attended a football game and she just loved it, but she has fallen in love with another school while waiting. In the end, I don’t care what school it is as long as she’s happy and feels like it fits her. As a bonus, the other school admissions officer sent her a lovely care package with a hand written note so she’s got the warm fuzzies right now. Good luck to your son - just hoping they all end up happy

I did call the admission office and was told if your child was deferred they start rolling out those answers on Monday and go thru Thursday. Just tomorrow is RD. Also said deferred can still receive Merit money. Seems like a lot of confusion

Thank you so much for calling and sharing that. I’m still confused why the deferred are handled separate from RD, but whatever, as long as we get a decision at that point, I’m happy.
