Parents of the HS Class of 2016 (Part 1)

@Baylorpoly Rolling admissions schools could be someone’s top choice, most of the SUNY schools are. @Mysonsdad I’m sorry. Was this through school or on your own? That is terrible

Through the school, that uses an outside company, that then uses another company to make the rings.

@Mysonsdad What a disappointment . I hope it all works out.

@Mysonsdad Do you know if other kids lost their rings as well?

@readingclaygirl I agree with you that someone’s top school may be one with rolling admissions. There are lots of schools out there and not everyone wants or needs to go to the same ones.

@readingclaygirl I am checking right now.

Hoping for the best @Mysonsdad !

Hope the ring is found, @Mysonsdad ! D didn’t want any of the ones from the (expensive) company the school partnered with, but found a very nice one online in silver for about 1/4 of the price. We’re getting her that one.

@Baylorpoly , there are plenty of schools with rolling admissions that are highly ranked. Maybe they are not Ivies or lottery schools, but they are excellent schools.

Please indicate which ones are the top choices that are rolling as I am sure others may need to play that card.

@Baylorpoly How do you define “top schools?” I think what several posters are trying to say is that everyone has their own “top choice” and that may not be considered a “top choice” by others. It’s important to research and figure out what personal criteria make it someone’s personal "top choice "

OK highest rated. A few examples please

Ugh, D finally checked her portal for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and still no decision! Admittances have been coming out since last week, but apparently in some random order as far as I can tell. I’m going insane waiting to find out although D doesn’t seem very concerned.

@Mysonsdad good luck with your son’s ring! I hope it turns up soon.

@Baylorpoly By what ranking? Lots of different ranking scales. And not everyone makes a college decision by rank. College choice is a very personal
decision .

Just throw any ones out there you would like. Not supposed to be complicated

Good luck @Mom2jl As we all trying to make sense of those senseless college admission results.

Thanks @Ballerina016. It helps to know there are others out there going through the same insanity!

@Baylorpoly, often there are some of the schools listed in Loren Pope’s “Colleges That Change Lives” list (www.ctcl.org) that have spots available after the “regular season.” A list will appear here in May:

@Mom2jl Good luck to your daughter.

@Baylorpoly A quick google search netted that Pennsylvania State University- University Park, Purdue University- West LaFayette, University of Pittsburgh, and Michigan State University all have rolling admissions and are in USA News Top 100 Universities. But really what does prestige matter if your child ends up in the right place for them?
