Parents of the HS Class of 2017 (Part 1)

@Mom2aphysicsgeek Congrats to your daughter!

@Fishnlines29 She is a dancer and had the lead role in her company’s latest ballet. The run just finished up and I could not have been more proud! Happily she did not succumb to the nasty cold that has been making the rounds in school. The whole cast stayed healthy and injury-free and put forth great performances. Hope your D recovers soon!

@Mom2aphysicsgeek Huge congrats so thrilled for your DD and you on Big Mac and decision!!
USCar is lucky to have her =D> <:-P

@dolemite and @LoveTheBard Congrats on WashU scholarship finalist results!

@chillkitty @WhataProcess @nocturne21 @cleoforshort Congrats on UCONN!

@RightCoaster said "My son’s ideal room mate would be some one with a fridge full of drinks and snacks, has an extensive music collection to share, would sit across from him in his room with headphones on all day, and they would simultaneously watch Netflix, youtube, play some IOS game vs each other, while texting each other. They would never talk to each other except via text. They wouldn’t judge each other for leaving clothes scattered around the room and never calling their parents. **That’s hilarious and so true. ** Also, about instate school cost, Rutgers is about 28-33. Also, our HS does not rank.

@twoforone99 My D wont have the option to room with a friend! I would say it probably depends on the kids… I think my D would go crazy rooming with one of her current friends, but maybe not if was more of a ‘secondary’ friend - then they would have a sense of trust, but would still leave each other alone enough to do their own thing!

CONGRATS @Mom2aphysicsgeek! Very happy for your D! How was she notified of USC decision?

Huge congrats @Mom2aphysicsgeek <:-P <:-P <:-P

@Fishnlines29 DH & S head to UMD College Park this Thursday. Hopefully DH will take good notes and I’ll be able to report back!

We booked S a flight to attend a Purdue admitted students day in early April (on his own). He’s been on the fence about Purdue, so hopefully all his questions will be answered during the visit.

Still waiting to hear from six schools. Some don’t release decisions until around March 23rd by mail so we probably won’t know until around the 27th. One sent an email that said April 1 notification!

Good luck to your son at UMD this weekend @jmek15 . Hopefully he’ll like it.

It stinks to have to wait until April to get some decisions back. I think my son gets 4 results back between the 11th and the 18th.

Please keep us updated.

Thanks for sharing our excitement.

@eandesmom Yes, she is 100% done. Everything else will be canceled. So happy to know that she has made a decision and we can just enjoy the rest of the yr.

@2Eagles All of the students were called this weekend.

DS was accepted by AMC/RPI Physician Scientist program (7 yr BS/MD)!

Congratulations @srk2017!!!

@srk2017 Yay!! I know he was hoping for a BS/MD program.

WoW @srk2017!!! Congratulations! <:-P <:-P <:-P Is this DS’s top choice?

Congratulations @srk2017 ! <:-P <:-P

congrats @srk2017 !! What’s that program all about?

Interesting that RPI released these decisions now, the rest of the decisions are coming this weekend.

@RightCoaster - Thanks. AMC is the one which sends these out. Also, they released a partial list and rest will be out at the end of March.

Congratulations @srk2017 !!!

Congrats, @srk2017! I know how hard those BSMD programs can be to get into…

Belated congrats to all of the UCONN acceptees!

@JenJenJenJen - Yes…some of those German words are great. One of my favorites was a word that had been used to describe Ted Cruz. He was described as possessing a Backpfeifengesicht, which means something along the lines of “a face that is begging to be punched.”

@Mom2aphysicsgeek Congratulations!!! So happy for you and your D! And for the rest of us, business as usual:) Fr us, I don’t think the decision is going to be made until the second week of April, when we get the rest of admission decisions and finalize all scholarship offers. Today we had to turn down one of the finalist interviews due to the conflict with another event on my S’ calendar. I am still puzzled whether it was the right thing to do. His reasoning was “I am not interested in this school. It was my safety.” I guess it’s ok, since in case he decides to go there we still can afford it. Anyone else is in the same boat with us, where I feel like my S is keep on applying for all sorts of merit scholarships at different schools, just to make sure he is not missing out on any opportunity?

Huge congratulations @srk2017 <:-P
