Parents of the HS Class of 2018 (Part 1)

Just waiting on Latin AP here. Looks like June 7 is the date to view our state.

Nope it won’t work before the 5th. If by some fluke it does you’ll certainly see it posted about on CC. There are some very bright and anxious kids on CC so I’m sure they’ll be trying to get their scores before the 5th.

Yes many colleges have the score posted on college portals already but that is because the CB sent the score to the school which is very different than logging on to get your scores. I’ll bet many high schools already have the AP scores too so there’s a chance that scores have been up loaded onto Naviance but most high school’s are on vacation.

In CA we don’t get scores until July 9 this yr so thx for the proxfree.com tip - will give that a try for sure. D18 waiting on AP Lang, APUSH, and APES.

@my2caligirls your right! to get the scores on the 5th you need to use a proxi server in one of these states:
Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia

Only waiting on AP Lang and APUSH here. Our state is Saturday.

Waiting on APUSH, Chem, Lang, Calc BC and Capstone. S’18 is in MA. Can he get the scores today since he is in one of the states that rolls out today even though we aren’t from there?

Empty nesting for 6 weeks this summer. 2 down, 4 to go.

S’18 did complete a draft of the common app essay before he left, but who knows He’ll pick it back up when he gets back to read and edit with fresh eyes.

@dadotwoboys Yes it doesn’t matter what state your are from just what state you are accessing your account from, But Wednesday is the first you can get scores. Where did you here MA could access scores today?

@dadotwoboys, I don’t think any scores are available until the 5th. However, access is determined by what state you are in when you go to check (not where you are from), so if he’s in MA on the 5th, he should be able to get them then.

Oops. Don’t know why I read July 3 instead of July 5.

Post 463 said MA was on the 5th. Just counting on you guys to know stuff ^:)^

Oops again. Post 4363

You people are awful. :))

I’ve been in the category of “Who cares about the AP Scores?” along with D, but now you have me semi-interested. How does that proxfree.com work when you click on a “CA server”? I would think you would need to be in the NE somewhere. I’m confused.

We’re in CA and D doesn’t seem to care (ya, sure) about BC and Lang.

That reddit post must be from last year, when the west coast got scores first. It is reversed this year, so yes, you’d need to use a proxy server in the northeast this time.

@Surhiritto you need to long in through a computer if a state that has access on July 5th (Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia) the CA server I mentioned was incorrect.

By using a proxy server the the CB computer thinks that you are logging in from the state the proxy server is located in not where you actually are.

@sushiritto we’re in the laissez faire camp as well. She took calc AB and I’m pretty sure she’s not given it a thought since she handed ME the code for accessing the score after she took the test :))

She cares more about her IB Spanish score but even that she’s not sweating. I figure when her friends start checking and reporting she’ll probably ask me to check for her.

Neither matters in the grand scheme. There is a 0% chance she scored well enough on the math for credit anywhere and the Spanish only matters for her IB diploma.

All that said I wish everyone who is waiting anxiously the very best and I hope you get the scores you’re hoping for!! >:D<

OK, that makes sense now. I thought I was missing something, but hey, I’ve never been afraid to ask the stupid question. :))

So, now, who’s gonna do this?

D cares about the SAT2 Lit score being released on 7/12, but AP scores, she’s meh.

For the BC test, there were at least two Forms. She was “randomly selected” to take the International Form for her BC test. They went over the USA BC test in class and she thought that it was easy. She thought the International test she took was extremely difficult. Lang was always going to be the more difficult of the two tests for her.

So, we need a code to check AP scores?

Just a tip, these websites have a built in VPN so it is super easy. You just have to log in instead of all the downloading and installing.

^^^But you need to input your child’s College Board account info into those websites. You don’t need to take that risk when using a proxy server, correct?

@ShrimpBurrito This question was asked on the Reddit AMA. The developer of the website said that he has posted all of the code on GitHub if you want to see it and it doesn’t save any passwords or anything. He also said that VPN’s can store your passwords too so using the websites ahs the same risks as VPNs. He also suggested that if you want to be extra safe you can change your password before you use it and then change it back to the normal one. Also, a ton of people used the site last year and nobody complained about getting their info stolen or anything and pretty good reviews.

^^^correct, if you already have a vpn app or proxy server website that you use, you can just go to the cb site and log in as usual. As long as your IP address registers as being in the northeast you’ll be able to access scores on Wednesday. You don’t actually even need to go through the extra steps outlined in the pull from Reddit, just go to the AP score section as you normally would. That is what we’ve done for the past two years.
