I also have to wonder what the heck anyone could really do with the CB user name and password other than look at my kids scores? It’s not like they can change them.
This is the big year for AP scores for S, he’s waiting for:
Calc AB
English Lang
Physics 1
Environmental science
Chemistry
Computer science A
He’ll definitely get some kind of AP Scholar award after this set of results, but the big question is whether he managed to score 4+ on all the exams to qualify for the National AP Scholar. He has only two previous AP exams, and for the national level they need 4+ on eight or more exams. I’m sure colleges don’t care too much about AP Scholar awards but any award helps, right?
If you’re new to vpn app or proxy server website use, you can check whether it works by using an ip locator website such as iplocation.net. I often like to use a vpn just for privacy and not just for accessing AP scores early. Right now iplocation.net shows my public IP address as being in New York, while I’m at home here in Texas. I’m running the Surf Easy vpn app.
Waiting on a few AP scores for DS18 – Latin, Physics 1 and Lang. Good luck to all those getting scores soon!
CAREFUL: I tried to do a dry-run on the proxfree.com instructions and would-up getting a malware error message 268D3 that locked-up my computer. I spent a couple of hours on the phone with my antivirus company to get it removed. b-(
Oh no @LMHS73 ! Well, thanks for being our guinea pig.
You guys and gals keep trying. I’ll wait until the 9th at least.
I texted D about the work around and she texted me back “don’t care.” Here’s me talking to her: :-@
I’ll stick with my proven vpn, it’s worked for me for years. S definitely wants to know his scores as soon as possible.
No problem @ShrimpBurrito! As soon as I clicked “send scores” the malware kicked-in & I couldn’t get anything on my computer to respond. Restarted & the screen asking me to call their scam company was still there. I used D’s laptop to look-up that error code 268D3 and it’s something a lot of folks are getting hit with right now.
Happy to take one for the team though!!!
I’m with you now @sushiritto - D doesn’t really care either & I was just playing around with it because it seemed interesting to me at the moment.
Yikes @LMHS73! I was going to give it a shot but I think I’ll just be patient. Sorry that happened to you.
Here’s an article from PC Mag explaining VPN and comparing some of the free ones available. With the experience @LMHS73 just had, I’d suggest finding a reputable VPN via this article or another similar online publication. Or if you know a very tech savvy person. There are good reasons to use VPN all the time, not just in July at AP score release time. ![]()

Bummer re the malware proxy server! Guess I will go with the next best thing as my wife will be in NY on Wed and can check and share the news. We have a column on our spreadsheet tracking AP credit - less important than the COA column but not by much! I am anticipating a slew of 3’s between this yr and next, and schools are all over the map on their generosity.
I am too lazy to do the proxy app. I just call someone I know who lives in the states that receive score on the first day and ask them to log in. Last year Grandma in Ohio checked. Looks like this year I will be calling Grandma in New York.
DD has knocked out 2 more essays. So far she has the Common App Essay, a diversity essay for U of Colorado and her Apply Texas essay prompt “B” complete. I think she easily has another 15 essays to write, although some are short answer. Most of those supplemental essay prompts will not be out until Aug 1.
I think she has hit the wall for the time being. She is off to vacation with a family friend this week. She just finished up her two online courses, Gov and Econ, before she left and is just waiting to log in for the final exams on July 12.
Waiting on scores for AP Psych, AP English Comp, APush and AP Physic. We will probably call Grandma in New York to log in to her college board account to view scores instead of waiting 3 additional days. I am not too worried about the AP scores, as much as I am anxiously awaiting the SAT score release on July 12.
The first transport is away!
S submitted his app to UNM today. Woo Hoo!
DD took language and APUSH, I just wait until she tells me, whenever that is. She is at a summer camp, will be back next week.
Well, @DiotimaDM, I guess you’re done!
ROFL! We darn well might be. :))
As soon as we can request transcripts (July 10) S will submit his UTD app. He’s decided to apply for UTD’s McDermott scholarship after all, and although it’s extremely competitive he thinks he might regret not even applying. He’d previously decided not to apply since it’s so very competitive and he’s lacking in demonstrated leadership and in recent volunteer experience, but now that UTD is solidly his top choice he feels a bit different. Time to put together the college app spreadsheet!
