S18 got his 3rd acceptance today…Appalachian State! He’s already in USC (Gamecocks) and UNCW. His top choices come late Jan thru Feb though.
Many many congrats to all who received good news for your kids today!
S18 got into Northwestern tonight and is so happy!! We are all thrilled and feel so lucky as it’s been his first choice by far since we visited.
I think the emoji thing may be part of my downfall… I tried to do a “high five” and it screwed things up. NO.ONE.FOLLOW.MY.LEAD! L-)
OK looks like I’ll be sticking with the CC emojis. Good thing I can usually find just the right one. ;))
Thanks @2018/2022mom for taking one for the team and experimenting! You are definitely one of us now! >:D<
@sushiritto Thanks! Interesting info!
Holy cow, I woke up to more than one hundred notifications!
Congratulations to everyone who got happy news last night. Hugs to those still waiting (ugh …).
It’ll be interesting to see where everyone ends up - and funny to see if any of our kids end up at the same schools.
Wow! Wow! Wow!
Had my company Holiday party (which was a blast) but looks like I missed a huge party here!!! Congratulations to all who posted such fabulous news!!!
For those who still need to wait for fabulous news hang in there! As my D20 said about her older sister a few weeks when reaches were discussed “she will end up where she is supposed to be”.
Classmates of D18 have been getting deferrals all week…Dartmouth, MIT, Harvard. It is definitely in the air.
According to D18 instagram, her school has 1 Cornell admit, 1 Brown admit(FH recruit), 1 Brown deferral, 1 Penn deferral, multiple Penn non-selections, 2 Drexel full tuition (swim, golf) she has 1 roll admission acceptance, still awaiting notifications 3 EA and 2 roll and maybe finishing 2-3 RD by Jan 1! Best of luck to those still waiting too, no news is good news I suppose!
If you have a chance please think about posting your kiddos acceptances on the Class of 2022 acceptance thred @1822mom does a fantastic keeping the list up to date. It is fun to see all the acceptances in one spot. If you just post something like:
“Please add Labegg’s D accepted at Trinity University”. It will be added to a list by your username and to a list by university that @1822mom posts fresh on Wednesdays and Saturdays (usually). She will give your post a like to let you know she has seen it to be added!
Wow - just woke up to so much good news on this thread!
Congrats to everyone - too many to list.
@glido - from what I hear deferral is still a good thing at BC. They accept a large portion of deferred and reject many in first round. S18’s friend was also deferred and his stats were great. Their letter said they had 10,000 applicants - much higher than last year.
Fingers crossed for you in regular round! S18 will be applying too.
Hello everyone! Just want to officially join this thread instead of only anonymously reading all of your posts. Have posted on other threads and had a few of my own, but now I’ll come out of the shadows, sort of.
I have a S18, who has received no acceptances and no rejections yet. Looking for big merit, so no ivies, no NESCAC, and no ED. S18 does have big stats, and is a 2 season athlete, recruitable at D3. Would have loved for him to be able to apply to some of the highly academic D3 schools, but alas, no merit aid there.
S’s HS has a few kids each year that go to elite schools, but most go to state flagship, regional small schools, or community college. And there is also a high percentage that don’t graduate from high school:(
CC has been so helpful in my son’s search, and I appreciate everyone’s willingness to offer information.
Congratulations to all of your kids who have received such wonderful news!
Wow such great news all around. Congratulations to all the accepted kids and the parents.
We may have another big wave coming today, right? :D/ Who’s expecting to hear something today?
Hooray to the class of 2018!
@ShrimpBurrito - me :-SS :-SS :-SS :-S
UCLA is reporting they received a record 113,000 freshman applications, the most of any in the nation and an increase of 7,900 or 12.5%. If they admit the same number of students as last year—about 16,500—the admit rate will drop to 14.6%.
Wow, just wow.
S18 accepted to Trinity with $25K scholarship and Towers invitation. I had encouraged him to apply, and he does not know much about it yet as we’ve not visited. Looking forward to learning more about it.
Word on the street is that Fordham decisions come out today. Acceptance is a possibility, affordability virtually zero. NPC changed a lot between the time he visited in June and when he applied the end of October. We’re looking at a 50K+ price tag, and that ain’t happening. I’m sure he’d like to know he’s accepted anyway.
So much good news on this wonderful 2018 site! Congratulations to all who got good news. More to come . . .
