What a thrill…D18 is in at UT Austin!! <:-P <:-P <:-P Her first acceptance! This one snuck up on us as its posted that decisions will be made by Feb 1st. This was way earlier than expected! So wonderful for D to have an acceptance after getting deferred at ND earlier this week. They only take 10% OOS so we feel lucky! She’s skipping around the house. No news on honors or scholarship yet, I imagine that is months off.
Two more EA decisions due next week, one or two in Feb then a her top choices of UCs and USC in March…
My daughter has two acceptances today - Barrett Honors at ASU and Willlamette! She really wants to stay in CA though, so we’ll be patiently waiting to hear from the UCs and CSUs next year. Personally, I think she’d do great at Barrett.
S is in at Vassar, ED1 . Waited until the aid package came through to withdraw from other schools. Got acceptance on Monday, financial aid award in email on Tuesday, deposit just sent. Whew! Congrats to everyone’s kids!!!
Congratulations to all the acceptances. @Kayak24 , I had kind of guessed your D’s ED school too based on today’s decision date but thats because I only knew of JHU decisions coming out today. But looks like there were more schools that released decisions today. LOL
We are also in at Lawrence’s dual BA/BM program. Wish they had scholarships ready, but hopefully it will be soon! This was her #1. So proud of my D18!!
That’s great news about the SAT scores @MACmiracle!
Congratulations to all the kids getting acceptances today!
It’s finally Christmas break around here. Little S is off until the 3rd, S18 until the 8th and I go back the 2nd. No plans here except sleeping to 7. A luxury around here.
So D emailed her EA colleges to withdraw her applications as she has the binding ED with CMU and got automated responses back. Guess we are done with the process.
D heard a yes from Lewis and Clark tonight. Merit of $23k per year plus $2k per year as a leadership award which was really nice. Admissions letter also had a personal note responding to her short answer response which was a nice touch. Unfortunately I think D has decided it’s just too small a school. Am tempted to take her to visit anyway - I have always wanted to go to Portland. Congrats to everyone’s kids who have heard recent good news.
S18 is in at his top three choices now. He is so done that he doesn’t even care about whether or not he gets into any others. He’s been admitted to 5 of 12 schools to date. This mama is so proud of him.
Hi Clementine7624,
Congrats on the Lewis and Clark acceptance! My D was accepted tonight too, and we loved Portland.
I’m wondering if your merit awards were in the admission letter. There was no mention of any merit in our letter (and we’re worried about being considered full pay!) Thanks for any info.
@PrettyGrownUp My daughter missed it the first time too. At the bottom of the letter there is something that says something like financial aid document and you have to click on it and it takes you to another letter about merit. Hope that helps and congrats!
