I think lots of schools admit applicants to a “pre-major”. More often than not it simply means that a number of prereqs for the major need to get completed with a minimal GPA requirement prior to declaring the major. In most cases it’s not a big deal but obviously need to look at the details. But it sounds like it’s not high on your D’s list anyways.
D18 is set for wisdom teeth removal on the 27th. Amazing how many of our kids are having this done over the holidays. He’s also still working on some essays and I have no clue what school he will end up at. Too many schools we haven’t heard back from yet. Plus, his super-reach, Stanford, is his current favorite. Between essays, he is helping me cook for Christmas Eve. Family coming over so it will be great for him to have a break for one night.
When Target had their buy one get one sale on college sports wear, I went ahead and ordered a golf style shirt for both Tennessee and Auburn. S18 has 90 days to make up his mind so I can still return one ;))
And btw, the shirts are really great quality and when I did a price comparison from the schools’ websites, they were almost $50 cheaper (per shirt!).
i have been reading this thread since the beginning, i learned a lot but i never had the chance to post anything, my son his a senior at public school in NYC, he just got accepted ED to UChicago so i am proud like any parents in my situation, i am so relieved because if he was differed or denied , he will be writing more essays and apps for like 14 schools.
Good luck to everyone
@lovespink we have a 27th appt for the wisdom teeth removal too! S18 has 4 more schools to send apps to and I have already reminded him that he may be out of commission for a couple of days. Will see if the 26th is a productive one. Here’s to quick healing for all of our wisdom teeth removal kiddos!!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! May the season bring plenty of joy and good college news.
Merry Christmas everyone! :x
Merry Christmas to all!! Whatever happens college wise, I pray that all the children get to where they need to be and a place just right for them!!
Merry Christmas!
I had some ups and downs today thinking of the friends and family who are no longer with us, so it was especially nice to check in here before bed and see the Merry Christmases from my friends here.
Merry Christmas to everyone!
DD18 is still a suffering kitten. Not only wisdom teeth but a nasty virus. Ugh. I’ve slept with her in the living room on the other couch for about a week. But she got her big wish of a white Christmas!
Here’s hoping we all get good news of acceptances and scholarships in the coming months. :x
@bearcatfan awww, sorry to hear about your DD still dealing with the after-surgery. I feel for her. DS will be there in the 27th.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Ditto on those acceptances and scholarships!!
Merry Christmas to all!
Merry Christmas Everyone!! White Christmas for us too!
D had her wisdom teeth out last summer. She got lucky and had it pretty easy. D16 had hers out the summer before and she was religious with the ice packs and also did pretty well with it. So our advice is ice packs. Good luck to everyone going through this over break.
Merry Christmas to all the DDs and DSs of the Class of 2018!
Merry Christmas to all! >:D< I hope everyone gets to spend time with family, friends and loved ones this holiday season.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Good holiday with our families and so happy S18 is not having to spend the rest of vacation working on college stuff. My sympathies to those suffering with any ills, large or small.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to my CC friends!
@JerseyParents my parents graduated from Drexel and work with alumna…most likely your child will get accepted. Excellent school with high acceptance rate…currently 6th in career placement.
thanks @camcam2022 He did get accepted - with the Dean’s scholarship, a portfolio scholarship and a nice grant.
Brought the 70K price tag down to state college level pricing. Its a good option indeed.
@DiotimaDM congrats! do you mind sharing your son’s stats and state? Thank you.
