Parents of the HS Class of 2021 (Part 1)

Have her go on the website and sign in. Go to June registration and hit change date. It should work. She hits change date and then available dates will show up.

I have not been able to complete the registration I started for the SAT exam in September and have been trying for about an hour to get into the system. I think I will wait until tomorrow…even if that means the testing date is gone. :frowning:

I have been trying to register for over 3 hours for the SAT! It keeps locking up and then kicking me out. I’m concerned that it is sold out. ACT is cancelled for the whole summer here. How can he apply ED1 somewhere without any scores?

she said she went to the June registration, hit ā€œchange test date, filled out info and hit continue. She then got a screen saying ā€œan error occurred while processing your request.ā€ Maybe has to do with our internet connection? Or that CB’s website is so busy.?

I bet CB is busy. Look at all of us! That email just went out maybe three hours ago. Some of us were able to register before that thanks to @nichols51 now? I bet they are overloaded. Not sure what the answer is but I really hope everyone gets a seat!!

OK, success! registered for August! (Now the fun begins).

@kanfly, keep trying…my D was finally able to get through.

S21 has been trying to log in to change his SAT registration to August but can’t get in…URL is unavailable due to high volume…so frustrating!

So now we’re getting this message while trying to register for the SAT:

Temporarily Unavailable.

The site you are trying access [sic] is currently undergoing maintenance. Please check back in a few hours. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I could just scream! I hate College Board.

Hoping everyone gets their SATs scheduled!

No Luck:

Unavailable Due to High Volume
We apologize but due to high traffic volume that URL is temporarily unavailable.

Going on 2 hours now…still can’t get in…I HATE College Board!!!

@Momof3B Yup. We’ve been trying for over 5 hours, with a short break for dinner.

I’ve been trying since 6:00 pm to change the June registration. I can’t get past entering the password - error occurred while processing this request. It’s been almost 5 hours! I know this is a rough time for everyone but didn’t CB anticipate the number of students trying to register tonight?!

Message has gone from ā€œunavailable due to high volumeā€ to ā€œtemporarily unavailable is currently undergoing maintenance try back in a few hoursā€

Alrighty then.

I had started registering S21 for the June SAT last month but didn’t complete the registration. I logged on to see if it would let me finish the registration and pick a new date. No luck. Since he took it once in the fall, we’ll have to wait until next week to try for a new date. In the meantime, I went ahead and registered him for the July ACT. We’ll see if it happens!

Thanks. My experience the first 47 years of my life with masks is extremely limited. I hope I can go back to being blissfully ignorant about proper mask usage soon. It would be great to say ā€œRemember in 2020 when we all wore masks? That was weird. I’m glad that didn’t last.ā€

D had a seat reserved at a location where she was supposed to be playing soccer, and that tournament was canceled obviously. I have been waiting for this list to come out so I knew what to change to, since I already called the 3 closest locations to me and they all said they were not testing. The list finally comes out today, and when I go to check if any locations near me are still open I find out that it is too late to request a change of location.

It would have been nice if ACT would have put the list out a few days earlier, or at least announced known closings, rather than waiting until it is too late to make changes and then releasing the info. Or still let kids make changes, there is plenty of time to ship tests to the right locations if they still have open seats.

Oh well, I think D decided to just not test anyway. But REALLY ANNOYED AT ACT RIGHT NOW.

Count me as a vote hoping that one bright lining out of the COVID cloud is that it drives a stake through the heart of SAT and ACT.

I feel like it is a lot of work to compose some of these posts on the COVID related issues and how they are being handled by schools and SAT/ACT. The words that pop into my head to describe the situation will get me tossed into the penalty box here.

DD finally got an SAT seat for November 7th. That is uncomfortably late, when she is going to be applying ED with a December 1 deadline.

We wanted an August or September date, maybe October if need be, but can’t register for those until next week. Seats will probably be filled by then.

Her SAT back in March was cancelled. I don’t understand why that group of students isn’t a priority, along with the other test dates that were cancelled.

(Have I mentioned that I hate College Board? 7.5 hours to get registered!)
