Project Runway 2017

“Love” is too strong, but at least 2 bad from good people.

I have a feeling the twins are going to be the ‘cheating’ scandal referenced in the first episode of things to come.

And I’d have liked the jump suit if one could, as Heidi required, use the bathroom without having to take the entire thing off.

I agree about the cheating scandal–someone has already said the word this episode. But I did like the winning design.
Surprised that someone didn’t make some cold weather sleep wear out of flannel or tee-shirt material. Or was that not an option?

They had to use the fabrics supplied - they mainly looked like silky type materials.

I thought the winning design was pretty, but I’m not sure how comfortable it would be to sleep in with all the straps.

And Heidi even mentioned how too many straps make it hard to get into. Maybe the final design will be changed in some way.

Agree with the winner and loser last night. And there’s no way they slept all night up there on the Empire State Bldg. Notice on the close-up shots of them “sleeping,” they are all perfectly posed, peaceful looking, not with open mouth, drool hanging out, sheet marks on faces.

Just catching up on this season. I’m on episode 3 right now, I agree with the choices on who HS been sent home. I don’t have a favorite yet, but won’t be sad if the twins are eliminated unless they really bring it on the next couple of episodes.

I love the different sized models this year!

I can’t pick one favorite yet but I really like Brandon, Ayana, Michael.

I liked the design from Sean, the shaved head twin, this episode. Not super original but very elegant yet comfortable and very marketable.

I thought it was unfair the twins were helping each other.

I agree ^^^

I got a kick out of Heidi’s comment to one of the twins inferring that they should work more and talk less.

The challenges just get sillier and sillier. Sleep outside at the Empire State Building, get inspired by architecture or the experience or whatever, dye your own printed fabric by hand and use it to design sleepwear that will satisfy Heidi’s “sexy” aesthetic. What’s next? Ride the Tower of Terror at Disney World ten times, get inspired by fear, skin some critters and use the fur to trim anoraks that will satisfy Nina’s “modern” aesthetic? Sigh. Remember when this show was on Bravo, the designers were so good, the challenges made sense, the accessory wall had high-end options, and there were no unqualified guest judges appearing solely to promote their latest movies, TV shows or music?

I do question some of the designers that are picked. Seriously, how did some of them make it on the show? Their work is horrible.

And I can sew better than some of them. Without the $5000 machine (which I lust after).

Well, I think I have to be in the minority so far (though I seem to have missed the unconventional challenge?) - I’m loving the contestants and the designs - I loved many of the sleepwear pieces!

I also like Sean (Shawn? not sure) of the twins better than Claire - I actually love hearing Sean talk and think she has more skill so far. As far as helping each other - any two can team up if they want to…so I don’t think it’s unfair or anything - though Claire was awfully bossy about it!

My favorite so far I think is Brandon - I want to know more about him personally. Seems like such a nice guy - seems sort of small town or something BUT really has terrific skill - I think Zach P has picked up on this.

The models are in their 20’s…I think it would be a little odd for them to be wearing clothing “for women” in their 50’s and up…30+ years their senior! I mean, really since they are representing all sizes - what’s stopping anyone older from wearing some of these designs??? Some outfits are more modest, some are not. Some are short, some are not. Some are clingy, some are not. I feel there is something for everyone! And as far as the make up , most people aren’t wearing runway makeup in public - not even models!

I like many of the contestants - but am not good at names yet.

Agreed, I think Brandon is the one to beat. And I think he’s terribly shy and as the season goes on I feel like the judges will ease him out of that…a little.

The “problem” I had with the sleepwear (lounge wear) challenge is there really wasn’t anything truly unique. Some were very pretty and looked yummy. I liked the 2 piece that Heidi said could be worn out (I couldn’t, but yes, some could). And I did like the winning look, because it looked beautifully finished, and I liked his created textile. I was surprised no one took to weaving the satin, which when basket weaved, right side, wrong side, is quite stunning.

Ok, next challenge please!

Sorry, but don’t think that the twins pairing up is fair. If it is even allowed, I don’t think that any other designers would pair up as they are competitors. I see other designers asking for input or discussing ideas but asking someone to sew for you is crossing the line. The designers are supposed to present their own creation not something another designer helped create.

Well I just watched the unconventional challenge that I somehow missed…and now I can see why you all were so bent out of shape about the twins! What a mess they were and Shaun really expected everyone to pick her up and carry her! The guy that went - his design was NOT good, but man what a sweetheart he seemed like. I think he got the short end of the stick.

Now I’m all caught up!

I honestly think I could have sewn a better outfit at 10 years old than the look that went home. I used to make doll clothes better than that.

That was probably the clearest losing look of all time!

This is not Project Kindergarten – ouch!
