Purdue University Early Action for Fall 2025 Admission

Not yet. But we hope there is an indication as soon as next Friday.

While in the past, most Honors College students were notified along with their acceptance, there have been a few cases where students were notified later. Purdue is working hard to manage its yield.

Also, if your student doesn’t make it into the honors college, there are other excellent Living Learning Communities for which they can apply. See Purdue’s website.

My DD was pretty burnt out by the time she came to answering the Purdue Honors questions, so she skipped them; regrets it, as she got into all the other honors colleges she applied to, even though Purdue is among her top choices now.
We’re going the LLC route now.

Anyone who is waiting on decision after deferral/LOCI seeing any portal indicators that it might come tomorrow?

I am afraid there is no such indication.

I know last year there were portal changes before decisions came out but since they fixed many of them before Jan 15 we might not see anything. Calling admissions is probably the only way to know if anything will come out today.

I submitted mine later in January and was in the last wave of acceptances in the second to last week in March but I was also a weak applicant so maybe that’s why

I don’t remember super well but what I do remember is that I was able to sign up for admitted student day which was a big indicator and I believe there was a change on the portal that had indicated acceptance in all the other waves

Does anyone know if Purdue still sends out official acceptance packages? Like in the mail? I wanted to have it in person to surprise my parents with my scholarship.

Also, is it true you can have a parking pass as a freshman if you have enough credits to be a sophomore? I have 75 dual credits, and since I’m in state all should transfer as something.

Thanks!

I believe Purdue no longer sends snail mail acceptances.

Parking for freshmen:

Restricted parking permits are only available to first-year students who live in a Purdue residence hall or Hawkins Hall with a documented need to travel off campus. To be considered, complete the Restricted Residence Hall Permit Application (PDF), save the form, and upload the form and required documentation (listed by reason on form) to the online parking portal on or after 2 p.m. on Aug. 1, 2024. A limited number of permits is available.

  • Regular medical visits off campus
    • Contact the Disability Resources Center at drc@purdue.edu for this request.
  • Classes off campus (excluding the airport)
  • Reserve/active military duty
  • Off-campus employment
    • Note: Employment with rideshare and joint food delivery services do not qualify, including but not limited to, Lyft, Uber, InstantCart, UberEats. Delivery drivers for a specific retail establishment may be eligible.

These permits are only valid in the following locations: McCutcheon Drive Parking Garage top level and the east Airport gravel lot.

I saw on a Facebook group that only Purdue Polytechnic sends a package.

Okay, thank you!

Any news on deferred students, did anyone receive any communication or acceptance after LOCI?

Yes. We got an acceptance package with a letter and some stickers.

It states on the deferral letter that they have until March 31 to make a decision. They won’t update if they haven’t come to that stage, I assume.

Admissions told my student that they would begin releasing on Wednesdays and Fridays starting sometime in February.

Just Purdue Polytechnic then?

Sorry it is not clear what you are asking. Purdue sent a letter with stickers for admission to college of science. College of Science is very engaged with admitted students offering in-person 1-on-1 with admission recruiters to answer any questions the students may have in our local area.
