Replied above already with stats but as another data point, son got an invite today to apply to honors college.
I appreciate the update! Iām refreshing this page constantly
I am seeing a few new āI got in to SDSUā posts on Reddit. Anyone here get notification this week? My daughter is too nervous to check and I am not going to force her ⦠just wondering if there is a new early group ⦠She would, of course, love to get in period and I think she has a good chance ā 4.24 CSU GPA with lots of honors/AP and 3 DE classes, CA but not local, Bio major ā but who knows? If there seems to be a large wave of new acceptances, I may gently encourage her to check her portal.
My son got an email direct from SDSU when he was accepted in December. But worth a shot checking the portal!
My OOS daughter got notified today via email that she was accepted (for Marine Biology). She didnāt have to check the portal, the email contained a video congratulating her on the acceptance.
Thank you! When did she get the notice?
Around 1pm est.
Question to all who may know: I was under the impression that acceptances come out in the Spring, seeing this is not the case. Any input is appreciated with regard to how their decisions typically go, would be appreciated. Also, for those they deny, do they go out at once? Has anyone received a declination yet? What is the historical sequence of decisions? Thanks so much.
SDSU has always admitted a small percentage of students in December/January but the majority of decisions are posted in March.
2024 Decision Timeline
Early admits starting December 18- Early Feb 2024. Rare admit March 2. Nursing admits posted March 5. Some audition based majors heard March 7. Another wave of Admits March 11, 2024 and March 13, 2024. Waitlists posted March 19, 2024. Denials posted March 20, 2024. Weberās Honors college notification March 21, 2024
Thanks for such precise info!!
Could you explain what ārare admitā means?
Also, thanks for explaining that majority of decisions are posted in March. My son had lost hope after seeing that so many had already heard but now Iāll let him know thereās still hope. (He has a weighted capped CSU GPA of 4.1 and is feeling unsure about his chances).
Rare admits is just one or a couple of acceptances for that date. The issue is that I rely on the social media sites to keep track of the decisions and many students do not post their decisions at all or may not post their decision results until days after the actual acceptance date so these rare admits could be part of a larger wave.
I know at least 4 out of state seniors who got their admissions decisions already (mine included). Two were December and two were January. Not very high stats kids
Is it possible after submitting application to SDSU to change major? If so, how? TY
Ugh did you all see this? San Diego State University draws record applications as enrollment also grows (msn.com)
You can contact SDSU admissions and ask if they will accept a change of major. Contact Us | SDSU
My understanding that they do 2, maybe 3 rounds of small acceptances ahead of time- there was one in Dec and one in Jan. I am not sure about Feb. I donāt think there are any rejections ahead of time. In March the majority of decisions come out.
Looks like 118000 applications for both undergraduate and graduate applications together. For a moment I was blown away thinking it was just undergrad..
Thank you for clarifying! I just skimmed the headline and lead then panicked!
No worries..There is a lot of stress and anxiety. Wishing everyone the best!
