Hey guys, I have some problems regarding schoolwork. I live in California, and attend a highly competitive public school, with extremely dedicated and intellectual classmates. I recently got a 3.333 GPA as a freshman. I want to do better, but I don’t have a clue where to start. Both of my parents work from 6 AM to 5 PM, so there’s no adult supervision for me to focus. Here’s my daily routine.

6:30 AM- Wake up and Shower
6:50 AM- Eat (Rarely) and Collect Homework/Textbooks
7:05 AM- Leave for School
7:15 AM- First Period
2:00 PM- Sixth Period Ends
2:10 PM- Get Home (Biking)
2:20 PM- Get Home (Walking)
2:30 PM- Snack and Internet/TV
6:00 PM- Homework
8:30 PM- Dinner
10:00- Bed

On Wednesdays I get out at 12 PM and start at 7:30 AM.

I plan on joining a few clubs, for example, Key Club, American Medical Student Association (AMSA), Speech and Debate (?). I’ll put in a club list below with the times they meet. I’m open to any suggestions.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I want to get into a decent college for medicine after high school, and the advice I have been given is to not care and focus solely on grades. I personally know the reasoning behind my GPA was laziness and playing sports during finals. Advice on this stuff would help a great deal, and class advice would help as well. I am open to taking summer courses to gain college credits too.
