SH–I don’t know which film you’re refering to (many seem to have purported ties to history), but in any case, I’m fairly sure that in the future,as now, it will be better to get our facts from evidence-based journalism and documentation, not from fictionalized tellings, no matter how artistic. Outside of the documentaries, all the films are Fiction. If there’s some kind of issue of national security, that’s something I don’t know about, but that’s not an artistic argument (I’m just speculating from your post–I dont’ follow meaningless controversies–too much else going on.) But whoever those three Senators are, I trust you, and probably the rest of us, will resist their policing of our thoughts!

Was really hoping for AK, but Life of Pi was pretty too.

Those two early (and well-deserved) awards for Life of Pi have me wondering if Ang Lee will take the directing Oscar after all.

I loved Brave - glad it won for best animated feature.

Cloud Atlas deserved makeup.

I cannot believe what that woman who was nominated for hair and make-up wore to the O’s. She looked like she just rolled out of bed and picked up something to wear off the floor.

I loved Shirley Bassey! She is 76 years old! Goldfinger.

Jennifer Hudson’s voice OH MY GOD

Time to switch channels. Sister Anne showed up in that crappy tribute. Lip syncing is a good idea when you assemble a bunch of actors who can’t carry a tune.

Only thing that could save the evening would be to see the Prada Princess LOSE and save us from the speech and the fake surprise. She is such a fake.

Not holding my bated breath.

Ditto. I checked out this thread as a break from the conspiracy theory on the Walmart thread to find another wilder one here. Is there truly no getting away from it?

Anne <3333

Yes, I’m with you on that one, CSIHSIS. Oh, and Christopher Plummer! What an elegant man.

[Anne Hathaway’s Les Miserables Performance Spoofed in Viral Parody Video - UsMagazine.com](Anne Hathaway's Les Miserables Performance Spoofed in Viral Parody Video - Us Weekly)

Wow, Anna Karenina not winning Production Design has literally ruined the entire night.

Barbara Streisand…awesome.

Barbra Streisand looks FANTASTIC.

What a treat to have Streisand perform! Has she had, as they say, some work done?

I’m enjoying this year’s show…I like the homage to the old days–the music, especially-- but the show has a decidedly ‘young’ look to it.

Wow, the woman who did the Anne Hathaway parody sounds great.

Seeing Norah Jones made me wonder…why was Ravi Shankar not mentioned in the memorial montage? He was once nominated for best music Oscar.

Did anyone see Robin Roberts in the Red Carpet special? I thought she looked fabulous and healthy! She was thin, but she has great arms; she must have been working out while recovering.

Great that Tarantino won.
