St. John Fisher

I’m a senior in a small high school in central NY. I’ve been considering Spanish a lot lately and have been looking into St. John Fisher in Rochester. They have a foreign language scholarship program and I was curious if anyone knew anything about this, or how competitive it is? My spanish grades have been really good, always high 90s and last year i got an A in a college spanish class, and received 100% on the state regents exam.

Less specifically, any thoughts on this school? I know someone who goes there who I’ll talk to, but I’m looking for several opinions. Thanks! :]

It is a solid, above average, Catholic school with a pleasant campus in a really nice suburb of Rochester, NY. I don’t know about their foreign language scholarship program.

The Buffalo Bills training camp is held there in the summer.

You should apply to several schools for Spanish and see which one works best for you.

What are your SAT scores? What is your gpa?

i just retook the SATs, but the first time i got 600 reading, 550 math, and 600 writing. 29 on my acts, and my unweighted average is 3.8ish. & thanks for the help :]

Fisher is a great school. Lots of really nice kids go there.
I think it is better than a SUNY school, but why not consider SUNY if money is an issue?

I’ve already applied to a couple SUNYs. I don’t want to rule out privates because of the money, so I’m looking into the scholarships and aid they offer.

St. John Fisher was founded as a Catholic men’s college but it is no longer formally affiliated with the Catholic church (nor is it a single sex school).
