@AggieMomhelp so Galveston is considered a TEAM offer or ETMA (entry to a major)? I know you are tired of answering the same questions, my apologies and thank you again.
@Docloraine
If your D wants to consider the strait Blinn Route, then she needs to look at the Program for Transfer Admission (PTA) and see if they offer her major http://admissions.tamu.edu/PTA
make sure to read the contact to participate as well. There are timelines for things she needs to be aware of.
She can only take classes towards the degree plan she signed up for. PTA is not a back door into A&M to get into other majors. Not that you are contemplating that but just throwing that out for all. There are always those who try and A&M is very savvy to the backdoor schemes to get around their pathway requirement
@angsmi TEAB is through Blinn and TAMU. Galveston is full admission into Galveston for the first year. All academies, CSTAT tamu campus, and galveston will only get into their major through ETAM. There are many academies, not just Blinn (FYI). You really should go through this thread as well as the Engineering thread. So much information given with links to better explain things. I know it’s a lot, but I believe in you!! = )
Y’all, check out this thread by @thelma2 It will give you links and answer any questions you have regarding going straight to Blinn and hopes for transferring to TAMU cstat.
@angsmi The admissions decision you received is for General Engineering at Galveston. Your son will go to school in Galveston and complete the General Engineering Core Requirements at that campus. If he is on track to complete them, he will Apply To A Major, aka ETAM. This will be his opportunity to transition to College Station.
Give him a moment to grieve not getting full admissions offer to College Station and then encourage him to get down to business to get to College Station. 2 semesters if he works hard and satisfies the requirements. Once he is in GV, if he no longer wants the engineering major, he can apply for change of curriculum to College Station but it is a process. http://www.tamug.edu/admissions/Change_of_Curriculum.html
TEAM is an admissions offer from TAMU for applicants of any major other than Engineering
TEAB is an Engineering Academy admissions offer from TAMU for engineering applicants and can be offered at the Blinn/Bryan campus or McAllen campus.
Engineering at Galveston is an admissions decision from TAMU for general engineering classes to be completed at that campus with transition to College Station upon completion through ETAM and will finish their major in College Station.
read through the Galveston Engineering thread started by @MomHopesNxtGenAg and the Engineering Admissions thread. Lots of info there that will answer a lot of questions and clear up a lot of confusion
. @futurenurse_123 If you complete the Blinn Team Program, you will become a full time A&M student. If you received a Blinn Team offer of Admissions, here is a link for you to learn about the program http://blinnteam.tamu.edu/
I’ve applied to chemical engineering at TAMU in December. Finally, I got an offer from TAMU that I’ve admitted to TAMUG as a general engineering student. If I accepted this offer, am I automatically transfer to TAMU at college station after my freshman year? Or do I have to apply to TAMU as a transfer student?
@Wings16 Once you satisfy ETAM requirements, then you would apply for your desired engineering major and transition to the College Station campus. You would not apply for transfer as you would already be an A&M student. Here is a link to ETAM information. All A&M students, including those in TEAB and all distant Academy programs, go through the ETAM process. https://engineering.tamu.edu/academics/entry-to-a-major/index.html
Hey yall! So in October I decided to apply to TAMU for Economics and I’ve recently decided that I would like to pursue Computer Science. I would love to go to Houston Community College’s TAMU Engineering Academy @ their Spring Branch campus. I was wondering, since I haven’t gotten a response for my Economics application, if I should click the request a “change of major” on my AIS or if I should just apply to HCC for this program? Thanks
@funCzIES Excellent! Go ahead and apply for the HCC TAMU Engineering Academy. It’s a free application, and you could be admitted as long as your math SAT or equivalent score is above a minimum. Apply tonight! It’s your good backup plan.
Someone else could back me up on this, or perhaps you could call Admissions tomorrow, but I suspect it’s too late to have any AIS change of major to engineering be considered.
@MomHopesNxtGenAg Thanks for the reply! I was also wondering if I were to be declined admission for Economics, would I still be able to participate in the HCC TAMU Engineering Academy or any other pathway to TAMU?
