I’m a psych major and I haven’t heard yet also
@nervoustamumommy @Michaelandcello I’ve seen a few Psych majors on here that have been accepted. My daughter is psych and has not heard yet. She’s gotten acceptances to Purdue, Indiana, CU Boulder, and Alabama. She is still waiting to hear from A&M and one other school. Hoping we hear this week…it’s taking its toll on all of us.
@evanpd13 I would apply to at least one other school in case you don’t like what A&M has to offer.
@evanpd13 when did you apply? Mays is full. I would highly suggest applying to another school, or two, to be safe and have options.
@52AG82 @texag92 I applied in early september and the only place I have heard mays is full is on this board and Id hope A&M wouldn’t keep that information hidden so I haven’t lost full hope in mays but isn’t there a blinn team for every major? I have 39 hours with a 4.0, so even if I don’t get full admit or blinn team, I will just transfer in next year. I’ve been an aggie ever since i was a child so I will be an aggie! Regardless of if it takes an extra year
@texag92 your daughter has great choices! I can certainly understand your frustration.
@evanpd13 Mays only admits 1,000, and it was full by November, with auto admits.
I don’t know anything about dual credit or Blinn TEAM, but I think @Thelma2 can chime in.
That’s great you’ve got so many hours!
@evanpd13 Several people have called admissions and have been told it is full as well as it has been stated at many conferences and meetings as reported by members. But you can certainly call to confirm if that helps you. I don’t think they are specifically hiding it just don’t publish it on the website.
@AggieDreamin @52AG82 Thank y’all! I don’t doubt that mays is full at all but i’m a glass of half full guy so i’ll always have hope! Here’s to praying for Blinn Team
What are the chances getting into TAMU from TAMU at Galveston after freshman year as a general engineering student? Is Galveston offer from TAMU called TEAM or PSA?
@Wings16 Did you get an offer of TAMU Galveston or are you planning to apply directly?
I got an offer from TAMU that I’ve admitted to TAMU at Galveston.
@Wings16 I believe it is a full offer not TEAM or PSA and that it has a path to TAMU Cstat second year if you want to move. @Thelma2 can provide you more information but I am not sure if she is online right now. I found this information that might be helpful in the meantime. https://engineering.tamu.edu/admissions-and-aid/engineering-at-galveston/index.html congratulations and good luck!
There is not a Blinn Team for every major. There are very few Admissions Agreements for guaranteed major admission. However, Mays is one of the majors that has an Admissions Agreement. http://tap.tamu.edu/Programs/TEAM
Blinn Team offers transition into a degree granting major but no guaranteed to a specific major.
Unfortunately, Blinn Team will not be an option for you. Under Alternative Admissions Decisions on the A&M admissions page, Due to coursework limitations, students with more than 40 hours of college credit are not eligible to participate in TEAM. http://admissions.tamu.edu/freshman/admitted
With 40 hours, be mindful of the major you are wanting to transfer into. You will want to follow the Transfer Course Sheet for your desired major. Many majors have an hours cap and you want to make sure you don’t exceed those, especially if you still have quite a few courses required in order to transfer.
Although Mays does not state a specific number of Maximum Transferable Hours, acceptance of transfer credit for business courses will generally be limited to those courses taught in the freshman and sophomore years at Texas A&M University. Mays undergraduate students must take all 300- and 400- level business coursework in residence at Texas A&M University.
Mays’ undergraduate program is subject to strict enrollment management. Although no minimum GPA is required, the competitive nature of transfer admission to Mays results in denial of many highly qualified applicants.
Here is a list of all of the majors. Find the major for your transfer course sheet for requirements to transfer. http://admissions.tamu.edu/transfer/majors
@Wings16 The engineering offer at Galveston has no other name. There is a thread about Engineering at Galveston if on this forum that has great information. The chances to College Station depends on your performance in how you complete the general engineering requirements. You will spend at least your first year in Galveston and your first opportunity to Apply To A Major will be in April of your freshman year. The Galveston Thread explains it all. There is also a lot of information on the Engineering Admissions thread.
Congrats on your admissions decision and when you get a moment, please share your stats with us.
Please forgive me if this question has already been asked. My son was offered blinn team and accepted. We are trying to look into on campus housing for him. It is my understanding that as a member of Blinn team he is eligible to apply to live on campus. I am not able to get onto the housing portal for some reason. Does anyone know if I am missing something here? Since he has been offered blinn Team and accepted should he be able to apply for Housing now? Thanks in advance
@Thelma2 Thank you for your very detailed reply! The thing is, I’ll have 39 hours, not 40, so technically aren’t i still eligible for blinn?
@bbfrid it takes a day or two after you accept the offer before you can get into the housing portal. My son accepted the offer last Thursday and we got into housing portal Monday and were able place a housing deposit.
@bbfrid I also accepted blinn academy today, but unless howdy has 6 tabs, then he will not be able to apply for housing. It takes aroound 24-48 hours for 6 tabs to come to howdy after accepting the academy offer. I am having the same problem. Hope this helped.
Major is irrelevant for admission into tamu as a freshman. Psych. Econ other liberal arts, geo etc. the fact you aren’t seeing people posting on here about getting in doesn’t mean there are spots available. Just means those parents or kids aren’t on this forum. Have a plan B and C. It helps with the wait.
Hello again! Thank you for the responses! So I happened to login and unlike yesterday I can now get into the housing portal. I guess I asked my question too soon! So I have a second question. These living learning programs? I don’t see any that really apply to my son. He feels the same. So I’m inclined to Tell him to say that he is not interested in applying to be a part of a living learning program. Am I missing something here? I’m hesitating because this page makes such a point that we are locked into the answer either way. Any advice on this? Thank you again in advance. This forum has been enormously helpful
