TAMU Class of 2023 - Admission Decisions/Discussion

If she did receive Gateway I am so happy for her! I love that she was not looked at as just a test score, but truly holistically as an excellent student who has held a job, had many ECs, and meaningful community service - very well-rounded and exactly what a review candidate offered Gateway should be! I am confident she will be very involved on campus and a great addition to A&M:) Congrats!

My daughter is still in review and praying for an answer soon!

@agclassof95mom I am Class of 92. Last year my oldest son was denied and offered PSA or a chance to apply to an Engineering Academy. He chose the later. He was accepted to Tech and Auburn but grew up an Aggie. My younger son will most likely be offered PSA with an outside shot at Blinn Team next year. I know its tough, but if business is what he wants to major in Tech may be the best option for him at this time. Mays is full and is extremely difficult to transfer to from junior college or another university. If his priority is to be an Aggie over a particular major, then maybe PSA or PTA is an option. I changed my major 3 times!

Yay!!! @NavyWife93 That is awesome news about Gateway! Your daughter sounds like an amazing person. Awesome job on her tests too - taking tests as someone with ADD is extremely tough. I work with students with ADD and ADHD in school settings to help intervene and those are great stats! It shows she can overcome anything. Great story to start off the day. Thank you for your family’s service too-families like yours give up so much for all of us.

After hitting refresh 15 times, rebooting, clearing the cache & cookies and everything else we could think of to somehow magically make an update to her status, she is still in review. Thinking of taking a sabbatical from work so that I can continue to obsessively check AIS. Might need a support group after all of this is over. :((
In all seriousness, I do appreciate the valuable information from this site.

I’m class of '92, a diehard Aggie, but if my daughter doesn’t end up going to A&M it won’t be the end of the world. I’m not sure she would even choose to go there if she got full acceptance. She wants to major in Psychology and has already been accepted into 3 top-rated programs.

Just spoke with admissions and they said they still plan on having all decisions out his week, but the AIS system takes 24-48 hours to update so by Monday we should have an answer. She said there are no full admits, and only PSA and Gateway. Gateway she said would roll out all at once very soon if not already, so I am assuming that since we have heard of one possibly getting that offer this morning, that those have all been sent out. My daughter will likely receive PSA and she will do the PTA route. Praying we see something in her AIS very soon so she can just move forward with her plans. Praying for all of you!

I still believe there are full admits left, the information supplied from the admissions number has been very contradictive these past few days.
I’m not ready to give up hope yet!

@Aggiemom1 If your daughter does do the PTA program, it would be much appreciated and valuable information if you could post your experience of the program and it’s how to’s, once she is enrolled. And of course, your (her) experience would be SO helpful if you would like to pop on next Spring’s admission cycle for applicants who might want to go this route.
Crossing fingers for her and know that she will bloom where she plants herself.

im hoping there are still full admits: /

They are advertising in conjunction with the SXSW Festival in Austin. I have seen the pictures on a Former Students FB page - I love it!

@texag92 LOL…I hadn’t thought of rebooting and clearing my cache and cookies! I like the way you think. :slight_smile:

That’s what I was thinking, but still says in review so it threw us off. When she sent the screen shot that they changed her major I realized it said Summer 2019. She doesn’t want to get too excited until it isn’t in review. Transitioning in would be great for her with us stationed 1500 miles in VA and her needing to utilize student services. Fingers crossed! ?

Update my friends first choice was engineering but he got armored with his stats of a 24 act, 50% class rank and no extra curricular with a gpa of 3.8. He got admitted in multidisciplinary

I just finished talking with the office of admissions and they did say that there is no more full admits, and the people who they decided on to get full admissions have already heard back. They said that all thats left is Gateway, TEAM, and PSA. I lost hope so now all I’m wishing for is for Gateway or TEAM. Wish me luck guys I’m really losing hope here!!

@rynetexas0301
He was not admitted to multidisciplinary. A freshman can only be admitted to General Engineering. That’s it. I think someone is pulling your leg unless you are meaning he was offered General Studies, and therefore, that would be the Gateway program.

The only other criteria under which he would get full admissions is if he were a Century Scholar high school, low income or some other under represented group for which A&M has a large outreach and support program. Does he fall into one of these categories?

I guess I just really don’t understand their decision making process. It seems like there’s a possibilty my daughter won’t get admitted to anything at this point. Yet classmates with far lower stats who applied the same time that she did received TEAM offers several weeks ago. I am really unclear on what it is they are actually looking at/for.

@mommydoodle A lot of us feel the same way…that is why we plan on meeting with them in March to find out how my son missed the mark (and to find out more about PTA, sign that contract and then meet with Blinn advisors). Mostly for my son’s curiosity and for preparing my youngest son who wants to be an engineer.

When was the last time they sent full admissions out?

I got an a full admission!!! so excited gig em. I hope everyone is still hopeful. Can’t believe I finally got a decision!!!

@cartershack CONGRATULATIONS!! ?

@cartershack Congrats, Please share your stats and details .
