When applying to blinn will it automatically go as under the Brenham campus or for the Blinn Bryan campus? I’m wanting to apply for the blinn-bryan one.
Up until Friday, I had never looked under “Manage Applications” (focused more on my tabs/AIS so I found it so crazy that all of you noticed the button was absent. Mine is gone as well, but it made me wonder if it disappears prior to any type of decision being released? I guess it would just seem to me that if they are going to give you a decision, it wouldn’t make sense to still allow you to change your major.
Probably me just trying to hope that a potential for TEAM is out there, but I realize that PSA is probably going to be it. :-S
I have another question and it’s directed towards parents with older children. In the case that I’m offered psa or Blinn, decide to not take it and instead attend another school and possibly transfer into A&M, would it look bad when I apply to a professional school after undergrad? Has any parent here had a child who transferred into A&M and wanted to go to a professional school? Does transferring from university to university hinder your ability to get into a good professional school? Would it be better to stay in one place? It’s okay if no one can answer this, I know that this is not a topic typically discussed here but I figured that maybe one person would know something. Thanks.
@biogirl19 No. I have asked this question directly to a certain professional school - they reassured me that all they look at is: finished the required coursework, extracurriculars, test scores, etc. Pretty much the same thing that colleges look at in HS students but at a much higher/finer level detail. It’s not where you start, but how you finish. Make the most of what you are given!!
@WaitingAgg there will be an option to select the campus when applying through ApplyTexas.
@JaceyK Awesome! Thank you for your response!
In response to the questions on whether the change major button goes away because they’re getting ready to make a decision on you and don’t want you to make any changes (any type of decision and not just PSA)…. I will just say that the change major button never went away for my son (before, during or after receiving full admission).
@txmomuv2 it just says Blinn College, but it’s not campus specific
@WaitingAgg it does have options later in the application. We applied today as back up so I know it is there.
@kaydeeloo when did your son get full admission? I am thinking that maybe it was that way because it was earlier in the year when the spots weren’t completely filled and therefore it wouldn’t be as much of a hassle if someone were to change their major. I may be wrong, that just seems like it makes sense
so since someone did get gateway with their change of major button being taken away, is it possible that some of us may have the opportunity to get gateway as well? along these lines too, has anyone that has received gateway as well had their change of major button taken away too?
also, could the change of major button being gone be because they’re changing your major to interdisciplinary studies (or whichever one it is?) anyways? maybe i’m just being too optimistic here :-S
@hopefulaggie2023 I am in the same situation as you and I think it is a possibility. I haven’t seen anyone say on here that all of the spots are taken, only that some of them have been given out.
also, i just read somewhere that the program typically selects 300-400 students to participate in it, and since we’ve only seen a slim number of students receive gateway this year, i’m hoping there’s still a chance
Since we have not seen any McAllen offers on CC, I am wondering if that is why the small group of BIMS majors are still waiting with all buttons still intact. Anyhow, I am very curious as to how the McAllen program works because according to their website with majors listed, BIMS is not even one of the majors! When you go through the main TAMU/Admissions, click on Higher Education Center at McAllen - there it lists the majors offered. However, when you click on the link under BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES (BIMS) (tx.ag/mcallenBIMS), it just takes you straight to the TAMU BIMS page (cstat). Could it be like TAMU Galveston - you start out taking core courses then transfer to cstat? I guess we will have to call and ask that question when and if he gets that decision. Still hoping for Gateway but he doesn’t have any special circumstances that they typically look for in candidates.
Hi
My daughter received Blinn Team and I had a few questions… she’s tried on Howdy to purchase both the sports pass and parking pass. Sports pass link directs her to 12th man site with no obvious place to purchase, and parking link says she doesn’t have an account. Any thoughts? Thanks!!
@slbtwb I think it’s too early to purchase sports pass for the 2019-2020 year - if that answer doesn’t satisfy you, email: tickets@12thmanfoundation.com. Same for parking - it’s too early to purchase, here is link to ask them a question: http://transport.tamu.edu/Parking/comments.aspx
@taylorv01 My son actually rcvd full admission in February 2017! He’s a sophomore at Tx A&M. Obviously, things could have changed in that time, but he changed his major a few days after being accepted so I remembered it well.
Sports Pass: They aren’t available yet to anyone. They will be made available to current students first (which hasn’t happened yet), and then to the newly waiting freshman/current high schoolers. Looking back at the email receipts received for the past two years of my son purchasing his… His senior year of high school, dated May 25. Freshman year of college, dated Apr 6. And he orders when they’re first available, so that may give you an idea of when you will be able to order it.
Can Blinn students purchase a sports pass?
