TAMU Class of 2023 - Admission Decisions/Discussion

Just got PSA, but will be attending UT Austin with full admision in the Fall. Good luck all! It has been quite a ride.

My daughter was shooting for Mays and received PSA. She will have 30 hours of DC by May and has decided PSA isn’t right for her. I’m ok with that.

@Ronran you got full admission to UT Austin, but only PSA for A&M? Did you apply after Dec 1? Something isn’t adding up…

@52AG82 @Ronran My daughter will also go to UT Austin as a full admit after getting PSA at TAMU. It’s anyone’s guess!

Did anyone with Mays first choice get in? I got PSA today, Mays first, Eco 2nd… I know it’s not supposed to matter on major, but I haven’t seen anyone actually get in

@TexasTrue that is crazy??? Top 6%?

So now that I have my PSA offer, I’m debating whether I should go straight Blinn and transfer, or is that too risky of not getting in and should I just take the PSA offer? I would really love to be in CStat, and have no problem going to junior college. I’m not planning on doing Mays or Engineering, so it would be much less competitive major.

@scoringduck Galveston would be infinitely better if you want to be at A&M. Transferring to Engineering from another University, the competition is not only tough but it if is one of the more popular majors, then there may not be any open seats, as the current students going through ETAM have priority, as do internal transfers and any PSA/PTA students.

Galveston is the same freshman program as College Station.

@Blaketflip only you can decide, but I’d say PSA is a much better option, safer, too.

can someone help me as to what to do for the PTA program? i applied to blinn tonight, but what number should i call/ who should i contact in order to set up the meeting?

@hopefulaggie2023 What major are you looking for PTA information on?

@jjbryce what exactly are you asking? Mays acceptance in the fall, or someone getting Mays as a PSA option?

@52AG82 was asking if anyone who applied for Mays as a review candidate got any offer besides PSA

@jjbryce several on this forum received acceptance in October. Way earlier than we’ve seen in the past. Since then tho, nothing that I can recall for review admits in Mays. It’s the first to close and a hard one to transfer into later.

@AggieDreamin kinesiology

@AggieMomhelp Thanks, I applied late so probably didn’t help myself there. Didn’t really see a lot of economics majors in review get in either, just thought it was odd

@jjbryce I think we just have a small sampling here. This year has been so hard for you students. But you all will succeed and end up where you want to be…

My son is Econ but last year. 28 act and top 14% local school. If he applied this year. He probably would no have been accepted. If you have any questions on Econ for transfer, let me know.

@jjbryce review admits rarely get into Mays. Mays only takes 1000 freshmen each year and the major typically fills up with auto and academic admits by mid Nov. Typically, review admits don’t begin to be admitted until after or close to the application deadline, and by then, Mays is full. This year was a little different and 2 review applicants were admitted in Oct.
