How does TAMU look at W’s during spring semester after applying???
Do AP credits count toward the “Maximum Transferable Hours”? I have 53 credits, but I accepted my APs and it put me at 78 which is way too much.
@gigem17 If you’ve accepted hours on your college transcript somewhere, then yes they count. BUT… maybe you have to accept them at TAMU too in order for them to count. Call advisor now to ask that question. They always advise to never accept AP credit until you have to and to do so on a need only basis (i.e. for prereq). You can accept them up til your senior year, so there’s literally no rush. Please let us know what they say as this is a great question!
@iwannabeanaggie8 they won’t see it after you apply until after they accept you. If this class is required to transfer, then that’s a no go. But say it’s like a core class of history, then it’s not a big deal.
@alirhasan96 Econ is actually an amazing major if you’re wanting a finance background. So if you do get econ, let me know and I’ll fill ya in on some great opportunities for finance path.

Howdy guys! I applied on 1/5/19 for the College of Education for EC-6, 4-8 Math/Science. I have a 3.52 GPA with 38 hours completed by the end of Spring 2019. I am currently taking Math 1324 and BIOL 1408, but will be missing the other math and science requirement. Do I have a good chance of getting in? After this semester, I will only have those two courses on the recommended list left. What are my chances?

Im currently at community college With a 3.6 GPA with 3 remaining required coursework classes left. I am VP of Phi Beta lambda business club and member of Honor Society. I want to get an idea of how competitive I am for Mays Business school, in Finance to be specific? its probably not that great bc of my gpa but I still want to know.
@gabe12 For Fall 2019 you don’t have much. Mays practically demands all required course work completed before you apply. As far as your GPA goes try to make A’s in those other 3 classes and bring your GPA up. I went to the transfer session in January and was told anything less than a 3.7 was probably not gonna cut it they told me the average was a 3.8-3.9. Also, try to be a junior when you apply it makes you more competitive. Best of luck.

God only knows. I applied on the 1st application number 32, and not expecting a response until beginning to mid-March.

@kew025 Hey! I’m in the exact same situation as you! Except I’ve taken BIO 1408 already and am taking GEOL 1403 AND MATH 1324 this semester! My GPA is at a 3.57 very close to yours but I will be hitting 63 hours at the end of this semester. I’m missing the other math class and am quite worried! Please let me know what your audit says and what the decision comes out to be as I’m pretty sure people will hear back this month. Have you not taken EDUC 1301 and ENG 1301?
@kew025 I think you’re shot if getting in is good! I applied for the spring with less hours and without Math 1325/Biol 1408/Geol 1403. They showed up on my audit for the spring semester as in progress though. I got in. I did have Math 1324 completed. I hope you get in. Gig em!

@tamuaggie21 hey why did they show up on your audit as in progress? Are you taking those classes right now? If so you have all math and science reqs and that’s how you got in where as kew and I haven’t taken/ took all 4. When did you apply and when did you get accepted?
