TAMU Transfer Fall 2019

@AggieMomhelp I am considering dropping my GEOL 1403 course so I will not have any distractions from my job this semester. It is proving to be too time consuming, and I don’t feel like it is well taught online, so I wanted to take a different course in person this summer. Will this affect my application or disqualify me if I’m accepted into A&M? They ask for my final transcript on AIS if accepted.

I would go straight to admissions, but the deadline is 2/4/19 to drop without a grade. I thought it was later.

----To clarify, I am applying to Mays. They do not look at Spring grades, so I think it won’t have any affect, but I wanted to cover all my bases.

@ExcGunnar Don’t worry about it man if you can drop it before the census date then do so. The classes listed as in progress are not required to be completed. When you applied you should have listed the classes you were scheduled to take this spring and it stated a clause that went something like “Please list the classes you are taking the semester prior to that which you are applying to, Knowing that they may be changed”. It’s not required it just TAMU wanting it to update their records.

@gigemsis Hi. I applied last year around August and applied for interdisciplinary studies. At the time, I only had Math 1324 done. I was working on Math 1325, Geol 1403, Biol 1408. I got accepted to start for the spring semester but I chose to wait for the fall semester since I also decided to do a different major. On the audit those 3 classes were listed as in progress. To be clear, I was NOT accepted yet for fall semester yet. I am waiting to get accepted as I haven’t got my audit yet. I hope to hear soon so I can start planning housing out.

@tamuaggie21 I have BIO 1408 done and am taking GEOL 1403 and MATH 1324 right now… What are my chances without MATH 1325 in progress like you? You were taking Math and the two sciences so you got in. They still look at the in-progress classes, not just the ones you have completed.

@wonderlust1 Awesome! I forgot about that clause from my application. I really appreciate the info; it eased my conscience.

Now I just need to keep an eye out for an easy summer course to knock out my last science credit. What all did you take? Man, oh man, do I hate having to take classes having no relation with what I want to major in.

Im so scared, my GPA is a 3.12 and Im wanting to go into political science. I tutor for the GED and work at the george bush library as a custodian. In one of my essays I detailed how the deputy director of the museum belives in me and that if I get in I have assurances of a real internship at the library. Do you guys think i have a chance?

@gigemsis I think you would still have a good chance for EC-6. When looking at the transfer sheet, note that it says “Recommended” versus “Required.” I’m no advisor… not even accepted yet myself but I feel like you still have a good shot at being accepted! Hopefully we know soon!!! I am anxiously waiting.

@ExcGunnar For the science credit? I took Biology 1&2 for Science Majors. I really like science so it was interesting and easy.

Transfer Audit showed up in AIS, but when I go to howdy it’s not there. Says it will not update when the school is closed looking forward to Monday. Anyone else show “View Transfer Audit” under “Application is Complete and in Review”?

@wonderlust1 I can confirm that my link on AIS is there as well. My audit from last year is the only one I can access currently, so I look forward to seeing the new one on Monday!

@ExcGunnar Did yours just show up recently as well? Or have you had it for a while? Mine just showed up today.

@wonderlust1 It just came up today. I only noticed it after you pointed it out.

Ok good, then that really does point to Monday being an informative day.

@tamuaggie21 thank you so much! Yes, I saw that and read into it so much! I’m going crazy!!! Thanks for your kind words.

I received my audit. 45 graded credit hours, but my 15 AP credit hours I claimed with UNT did not show up. I’m going to contact A&M in the morning as I need ECON 203 for admission. I’m pissed because my audit from last year included all of those classes as well, so there must be a mistake.

@ExcGunnar I wish you luck, Let me know what they say. I have a brother with a similar situation and would like to be able to warn him.
