@poundman
Q1: The school will decide how to use the credit hours.
Q2: I don’t think so. They might tell him when he talks to them after being accepted.
Q3: We hope. Don’t hold your breath.
@poundman
I heard we’re supposed to get decisions before March 1st, but don’t know how true that is. We just have to wait and see.
Well, my app is finally complete and in review as of today.
For reference, it took three weeks for my transcript to be reviewed.
I’ve been looking at old threads and found that if you have the 6 tabs in Howdy it’s basically an acceptance letter…does anyone have 6 tabs yet??
@iwannabeanaggie8 Yeah, it generally means your accepted or at least getting a spring review if your college does that. Last year the earliest tabs I saw were for Mays students on the 26th of Feb. Don’t expect anything until maybe the tail end of the month.
Received my transfer audit today!! However, I’m going to have to call admissions due to a error. They put my bio class as one grade, yet from my university I earned a grade for lab and lecture.
Im a freshman applying for the college of education and human development with a major in interdisciplinary studies (EC-6 Education), i currently have a 3.0 GPA, 26 hours and i am involved with my sorority. By the end of this semester i should have 41 hours and a 3.25 cumulative GPA , what are my chances?
@emd931 hey I also had this problem with bio 1408 but it says it counts at 4 hours anyway. have you called?
hey guys I just got my transfer audit today and they transferred the D I had but I thought they don’t accept grades lower than a C? it’s bringing my 3.57 gpa to a 3.42. I took this class again and got an A! Is there anything I can do or is that just how they calculate it?
Who else is an engineering transfer? Did ya’ll hear that we have to take a separate lab because both Physics 2425 and 2426 only count as 3 hours each after this semester at A&M?
@gigemsis All grades taken transfer for the GPA… the credit just wouldn’t count towards your degree if you didn’t get a C or better. Meaning you had to take it again regardless. Don’t worry though, GPA is strong and going from a D to an A is awesome. Shows you really took care of business! Improvement is always a good thing!
@alterego1 https://admissions.tamu.edu/admissions-staging/media/Main/pdfs-transfer2018/ED18-EC6andMG.pdf check out this link to make sure you have already completed the required courses. Your GPA of 3.0 is good since they prefer a 2.75 or higher.
@gigemsis Hi I did end up calling because I noticed my GPA wasn’t right either. Admissions told me to send them a detailed email of what I thought was wrong. The lady I spoke with said they would either fix it or tell you why they did it a certain way.
Does anyone know how many people applied to transfer into Mays Business school, or is the info not available until application deadline passes? I’m interested in knowing to calculate an estimated acceptance rate since they usually admit only 100 people.
@Probanaggie In an email from the admissions department as of Aug. 16th, 2018, “We receive anywhere from 600-1,000 applicants for transfer admission into the Business School.” The average GPA admitted that year (2017) was 3.9 as well according to Theresa Schmitz in admission.
You got a 4.0, and as long as you’ve completed all of the required coursework then you’ll likely get in. All of us Mays applicants on the forum seem to be sitting pretty well.
@KingofSodium I am planning to transfer into electrical engineering. I have completed both physics 2425 and 2426. On my transfer audit it appears that four hours transferred for both courses. Though, I do see this statement on the transfer course sheet for Electrical Engineering,
“The College of Engineering has updated degree requirements for courses in Physics
PHYS 2425 (4 Hours) or 2325+2125 (4 Hours) = PHYS 218 (4 Hours) *Effective for students entering the College of Engineering IN OR BEFORE Spring 2018
PHYS 2425 (4 Hours) or PHYS 2325 (3 Hours) = PHYS 206 (3 Hours) *Effective for students entering the College of Engineering AFTER Spring 2018”
So does this mean that we have take lab for each of these physics classes once we are at Texas A&M?
Hello everyone, I am an out of state transfer student from NJ. Yesterday, I received my transfer audit report, and it showed I have 100 transferable credits with 3.96 GPA (I have an associate degree from my CC). However, 61 of them are from TRNS XXX courses including my cal 3 and diff., 4 chem classes, 2 physics classes, and 2 engineering classes, etc. I meant to take those classes to satisfy the required coursework from engineering department at TAMU.
Now, it ends up with those classes above are identified as TRNS XXX, so it means I do not finish the required coursework for transferring?
Please help me and explain what I can do now (I did send an email to the office of admission, but still hear nothing back)
@Honeybadger11 I’m in the same boat as you, I’m an out of state transfer from MD. I applied as a psychology major with 25 credits. All of my credits are transferable but I had a few TRNS XXX classes as well. One of which was English which I need for my required coursework for my major. Please let me know if admissions says anything back to you!
@Donutworry I talked to an advisor and she told me that we will take a lab specifically for transfers but she is not sure she said since the policy is new
Even though I haven’t been accepted yet, I’ve been very worried about housing since it’s taking so long for us transfers to get a decision. Since most freshman are already admitted, is it gonna be difficult to find housing?? If admitted I’d like to live in white creek btw.
