TAMU Transfer Fall 2019

@letsgetit! it means u are denied for chemical engineering this fall 2019. but it doesnt mean u would never get in, i really think u should apply again for spring 2020 because its always easier to transfer in for the spring. also u only completed 30ish hrs which is not much at all so take some more recommended classes and apply again! hope this helps and dont worry too much!

Has any Sociology Majors or liberal arts major been accepted? If so stats???

@“letsgetit!” The GPA on my transfer audit was a 4.0. I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I keep checking every day to see if I get bumped to my second choice, Electrical Engineering lol. I am in-progress for two of the required coursework, so I’m assuming that’s why I haven’t heard back yet. Unfortunately, I don’t know anything about Chemical Engineering, but from what I know, each engineering department has its own timetables. And yes, if your first choice major changes it means you are being considered for your second choice major now.

@bob292882 (Anthropology Major, 24 credits [49 credits including IB credits], 3.6 GPA) applied 2/9, went in review 2/19, received transfer audit 2/21, denied 3/7 BUT I received 6 tabs 3/12, admitted in AIS 3/13! seems as if they saw I didn’t have ENGL 104 on my transfer audit but I have IB credit for it so they reviews my app again. what are your stats if you don’t mind me asking? sure u will get in!

I received my Audit a week ago. With my GPA being a 3.00 from 52 credits. All classes transfer. My first major is Sociology with my second being Anyhropology. I would be consider a Junior in the Sociology Deparment and just a couple of classes off from being a Junior in the Anthropology Major. I haven’t received tabs yet and my major is still Sociology.

have any education majors been accepted since 2/28? if so, stats?

@AggieMomhelp no it’s for financial aid not health insurance:)

Lol oooh. I was so confused. Ooopsie. Did you ever get an answer. Like a real one lol

@bob292882 I would give it a week or two until you see tabs or not. Your stats look great and I’m sure you will get in!

This wait is killing me!

If you get denied for your first major, do tamu consider the same chance with the second major also?

@“letsgetit!” Your packet is then sent to second major. Admissions doesn’t do anything with it. It’s all done at the department level.

@AggieMomhelp Sorry, I don’t understand what you mean…

Maybe it’s me not understanding. Lol. What is your question about tamu giving you same chance in 2nd major.

can someone tell me my chances in getting into the college of education, more specifically in 4-8 ELA/ SS. I spoke to the person who would review my application and said he would consider my application, but was not a guarantee because i did not have one of the math courses required. he suggested that i take flex term for the course and am getting ready to start that soon. aside from that, i have all the required courses done and have a 3.49 GPA. i received my audit form 3/11 and applied 2/28. when should i expect a response? thank you.

Got denied from university studies - leadership with a 3.25 gpa and 24 hrs. Still plan on trying for the spring I’m confident I can finish out this spring with all A’s which would bring my gpa up a 3.5 and give me about 36 or more hrs. Just wondering if anyone knows who I can talk to and what I should do to give my self a better chance at hopefully being admitted for spring 2020. Thanks ??

@jgtamu22 the maths are on a “recommended” list which someone should talk to them about changing to required bc I was stressed out about it!! I also applied to coe with 3.57 gpa and 52 hrs completed and got deferred for spring grades. most likely you will too since the math will be in progress. check ais instead of howdy! if you got deferred it won’t show up on howdy it will just say under review!

hey @matthewg2477, its always easier to be admitted for the spring. i know a lot of people who finished 1/4 of the required classes and got accepted easily. so do well on ur classes and apply again this yr. good luck!

Thanks @knorrig

@matthewg2477 Have you attended any of the transfer seminars at TAMU or reached out to an advisor in the major you are wanting? That is the best way to get the information you are looking for. http://admissions.tamu.edu/transfer/programs
