TAMU Transfer Fall 2019

@Walker03 how did you submit your college transcripts? Did you already have them in your possession or did you have to request them from the colleges? I had to request the transcripts to be sent from colleges and had to send them by mail.

@emd931 I am also applying to the College of Education and Human Development and plan on majoring in Allied Health. I applied on 1/1/19 and was wondering if you had applied and received any notices of transcripts being received yet.

@Walker03 I personally requested my transcripts to be sent in on my current schools website. My school then emailed me and said TAMU received my transcripts. So TAMU has not said anything to me or made an indication that they have them either. I guess we will wait and see. Hope this helps!

hello yall!
I applied to the College of Education and Human Development and chose Allied Health as my first choice major and Nutrition in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences as my second choice major. I applied on 1/1/19, submitted Essays A and C, paid the application fee, and have requested my transcripts to be sent from my current college and dual enrollment colleges. All say they have been sent to TAMU, but my AIS has not updated. Should I receive an email with confirmation of TAMU receiving my transcripts?

I have a 3.8 GPA
52 Hours of credit (64 after spring 2019)
114 Community Service Hours

Do y’all think I will get in? Does the College of Education and Human Development have rolling admission?

@megatron01 @iwannabeanaggie8 I sent my college transcripts via electronic transcript through the colleges I attended. My transcripts have been received and are currently needing processing so my transcripts have a yellow mark by them on AIS. However, I sent all of my transcripts before the application opened so they had my transcripts when I applied.

If you haven’t already, Try looking under documents on the tabs on AIS there is a sub tab that says received tabs it should say if they have received any documents. If they are not there I would call later this week for them to confirm that TAMU has received them!

Good luck! Keep us updated on your progress!

I was told by my CC advisors that it is illegal for a college to give advantages to a transfer student baised on what junior/cc/senior college that the student comes from for admissions/transfer admissions. Also. I sent my transcripts in December they have been received and have a yellow mark next to them. Don’t worry so much guys. The colleges won’t start the actual admissions until beginning of February. Just make sure they have them by then.

@megatron01 You should have no issues at admissions to TAMU. Great GPA. I’m assuming you have met required courses as well. Great job.

@wonderlust1 Did you send TAMU your high school transcript? My application says “My App is Incomplete” but they have received everything but my high school transcript which has a big red X on my application. Just wondering if you have the same thing or if I need to send my high school. Thanks!

Mine list high school transcripts under “documents needed if admitted” So no my application is complete. How many in lecture hours do you have I was told at the transfer information service that AP and Dual credit do not toward college hours.

Mine also says I have to have my high school transcript to complete my application . Mine was sent in the mail a few days ago but why do some people have to have it to complete their application and some don’t?

I didn’t do that great in high school which is why I’m transferring. Will they look at my HS transcript to determine if I’m admitted or not?

I got accepted into another Texas school today and don’t know whether to accept, decline, or do nothing. To accept they aren’t asking for a deposit, just to click the accept button. This school is my second choice and I don’t plan on hearing from Tamu, my first choice, for a month or so. What should I do?

@gigem21tamu @Walker03 Do you guys have your associates degree? I am wondering if that could be the difference. I graduated with my associates and I have 2 certificates of proficiency, totaling 76 hours. I graduated High school in 2014. if you have your associates then maybe you guys graduated high school recently?

@Walker03 @gigem21tamu my application states…

Documents Required for ADMISSIONS
-COLLEGE TRANSCRIPT FROM TYLER JUNIOR COLLEGE (yellow mark)
-Essay A (green check)
-$75 UGRAD APPLICATION FEE (green check)

Additional Documents Required if ADMITTED
-OFFICIAL FINAL HS TRANSCRIPT FROM UNION GROVE HIGH SCHOOL (red x)
-COLLEGE TRNS FINAL GRADES FROM TYLER JUNIOR COLLEGE (red x)
-COLLEGE TRNS FINAL GRADES FROM BLINN COLLEGE (red x)
-BACTERIAL MENINGITIS PROOF OF VACCINATION (Details) (green check)

@gigem21tamu @wonderlust1 HS transcript doesn’t matter unless you’re going for the top 10 percent of HS class + associates degreee acceptance route. There’s a Texas state law that allows You to get into any public college with these prerequisites.

Also, I have all green check boxes except for meningitis and final spring transcript.

That makes sense, I guess thats why those with Associate degrees are asked to provide a HS transcript right now.

Yeah it’s probably why, but they might still want it for final documents for some reason.

@gigem21tamu NOPE… only college credit counts on admission decisions for transfers. NO worries (Dual credit does count though). You just have to show you did graduate from HS

Son is applying to Agribusiness (just finished first semester freshman year). Has a 3.3 from an out of state major university. Has 9 hours that should transfer for credit as dual credit taken during his junior year of high school. Will be at Blinn for Spring 2019. Agribusiness Advisor at TAMU said that College of Agriculture will admit students taking concurrent classes. He hopes that semester at Blinn will be close to 4.0. Any thoughts on how competitive he will be? We’re very hopeful but anxious.

Hey guys I’m about to send my application into the school of communication at a&m tomorrow I currently have a 3.25 gpa with all required courses done and a couple of additional courses recommended on a&m transfer course sheet. I was just wondering what my chances of admission are. Thank y’all !
