TAMU Transfer Fall 2019

I think I heard something about transfer audits wouldn’t start showing up until the end of January and beginning of February when the school you applied to receives your application. Right now all TAMU applications are still in the office of Admissions getting placed in order and making sure the right documents are attached to the right applicants.

Im new to this site so hopefully this works.
Hey everybody, I’m looking to transfer into Construction Science at TAMU for fall and I have already applied. I have 24 hours completed through dual credit, and will have 24 hours completed after this semester at Blinn. My cumulative GPA is a 3.0 without this semester. Do ya’ll think I have a chance of getting in?

@masondubs So dual credit and Fall semester GPA is a 3.0? Have you taken Math 1324 and College Physics? Those are the two requirements but I believe you can also have Chemistry in lieu of it. What are your currently taking this Spring? Your 3.0 is well above the minimum. This is a great program at TAMU.

Im taking math 1325 right now, and physics in the summer. I put both of those being completed by the fall on the application. Will they notice that?

@masondubs, yes… they will notice that. And you already have your first math done, so the second one is just a bonus. Have you had any other science as DC or Fall semester?

I took geology last semester as a science. Ended up with a 89.5 as the final grade (still mad about that). I have most of the courses on my degree plan completed, besides physics.

So I was curious and I looked at my ApplyTexas application for Texas A&M and I saw that I checked the box that stated I was in top 10% of my high school and I believe I qualify for automatic admission. But to be clear, I was NOT in top 10% of my high school class. So that’s my problem! I plan on calling them tomorrow but does anybody know if this mistake will effect my admission decision? I feel like they will look at it as an act of dishonestly and decline me. Guess I should have checked my application before submitting it

Update: talked to someone with admissions and it can be corrected !

I’ve heard countless times that TAMU is not very liberal with their scholarship disbursements. Does anyone know what the odds for getting any academic transfer scholarship is when transferring with a 4.0?

it all depends they look for academic achievement, extracurricular activities, leadership, major, and household income. You could have a 4.0 and have no leadership and the chances are slim, it all depends honestly.

Ah gotcha. I have plenty of work experience and I created a scholarship program, so hopefully those will pull in my favor.

Does everybody applying to Mays have 4.0’s?

@Aggie21 I’m not completely sure about the other Mays applicants, but I know @ExcGunnar and I have 4.0’s.

I am applying to mays as well what do yall want to specify in?

@aggie21 I’m specifying in Supply Chain Management hopefully. What about yourself?

I’m applying for College of Liberal Arts in the Communication department as an out of state student with a 3.9 and a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Only thing is I don’t have many volunteer hours. Please chance me!

I just submitted my application whoop super excited! Only thing is when I view my submitted app it doesn’t show anything about my essay?! Is that normal? It’s kinda making me worry a bit.

(EDITED): Nevermind I found it! It was in a separate section

@iwannabeanaggie8 I think you have a super good shot you don’t even have to worry. That’s super good for Liberal Arts. I have a friend who got in with a 2.8 for the College of Science. Her major is entomology, not sure how competitive that major is, but yeah I think you don’t have anything to worry about. Hope that helps a little bit. Good luck to you!

@aggiebound1996 awesome thank you!! I’ve been very worried about not getting in to the point of tears lol so that makes me feel better

@iwannabeanaggie8 so have I!!! It’s so nerve racking! lol I hate it
