We have the very first graduation date for our district this year, May 15th, so that’s not an issue. I’m just wondering how soon various NSC dates will fill up.
My Aggie didn’t register for NSC until February (getting earliest A&M acceptance date)…she got the July NSC date she wanted.
She registered for class in under 3 minutes.
There is no true advantage for May NSC, unless it’s a summer schedule thing.
I’d wait. Classes ARE opened every session, except August.
For those of you who see the 7 tabs before your child, how have you handled it with them? I’ve been checking my son’s portals for him to make sure they’re complete (transcripts for other schools have been very slow to arrive) but logged in today to Howdy out of curiosity after seeing the posts about it. He’s holistic and applied 9/27 so I didn’t expect anything and was surprised to see the 7 tabs. He’s still in review so nothing official.
I saw up thread that they don’t send emails to notify about a change in the portal. Do you wait a few days then nudge them to log in to check? Or wait until the admission packet comes? It may be his first acceptance and I don’t want to take away the surprise of him finding out on his own but I also don’t want him to have to wait a month to find out. I wish they sent emails. I’m so excited for him!
Congrats.. Can you share details on the profile
I ask him to check everyday.
I’m not sure where this “pressure” to hurry and sign up for NSC right away comes from, but glad to hear that it is not accurate. Mine won’t even graduate until the end of May so thinking a mid June NSC would be best, and not even sure of summer vacation plans.
I heard the different NSC dates are also different depending on majors.
If you want it to be a surprise I’d remind them that they say to check the portal once a week so maybe have him do that? or have him do it twice a week now that you know about the 7 tabs and know the “you’re admitted” in AIS is coming soon! Mine was auto admit so there was no big surprise but she was still very excited when it was all official. It took 2 weeks from the “you’re admitted” in AIS to get the banner and everything in the mail but that was also exciting too! And congrats!
Sure in state, top 15% (assigned top quarter), 3.86 unweighted with good rigor (11 APs by graduation) 33 ACT, pretty typical extracurriculars, Mays first choice major so fingers crossed for that
We are in the same boat, waiting for other schools to notify to make his final decision.
Definitely got into Mays. You can check the Howdy dashboard under manage applications and it’ll show his first choice. Also on AIS, if the first choice is still listed and you have 7 tabs on Howdy, then you got first choice.
Thank you so much for the info!
same boat too with not finding out until mid January–feels so late but know it’s not, lol.
What is the deadline of registering NSC? Is it by May 1st 2025 latest?
TAMU website said the registration deadline is mentioned on acceptance letter. But the letter showing in AIS just mentions “The deadline to confirm your acceptance of admission is May 1, 2025”
So is registering NSC deadline = Acceptance admission deadline = May 1st 2025?
Anybody here can help clarify?
D25’s Howdy login looks like below. Are these the 7 tabs that Admitted folks have been referring to? Her application status says “Under Review” and she applied to Engg.
Please comment.
7 Tabs!
Review will change soon. Look at your “letters” in AIS.
Congrats to you4 daughter! Can you please post her stats?
Thank you @AETX & @Jcb1 . I now see the Congratulations message on AIS! It says “General Engg” and so I am guessing Major will show up soon
All incoming freshman Engineering students are
General Engineering. Students must go thru ETAM process to determine their specific field.
Yes. Registering for NSC is the acceptance, so the May 1 deadline covers both
7 tabs for my kid this morning and official acceptance in AIS midday. Kinesiology (PT school plans).
- Top quartile per A&M at a non-ranking 6A that produces 50-70 NMSFs per year (she was not one)
- 33 ACT
- ECs and a job geared to what she wants to do for a career
