I enjoyed the finale and thought the final 3 were the right pick. I’ll miss having something so pleasant to watch on Friday nights!
My least favorite won 
but still a good season although I don’t think the overall baking ability was as strong this season.
Yes, of the remaining three, my least favorite won as well! But, still fun!
The one I wanted to win did win. But I’d have been happy with any of the three.

Even in an altered state, it will be better than so many of our television alternatives. Hope PBS does continue.
Mel and Sue making the clever quips, acting to engage the bakers, poking Paul, acting as the glue that made the shows enjoyable were underappreciated but vital to the old show’s success.
Of course, if PBS USA shows the new GBBO we have to watch it.
I have a super tall antenna so will watch the one showing in the UK but will be missing the old GBBO.
beerme: agree with losing your grandma and two funny aunts, but also, your creepy uncle is still there…
I watched the new version and it is totally fine on the interwebs. If the adverts are different on TV (big UK complaint) I it didn't appear any different on the web catch up show. They have done a nice job with the comedic duo, prue leith is just as out of touch and behind the times as mary (maybe a tiny bit less so, but she is much posher so it adds up to the same thing) but what they have done is gathered quite an interesting cast of bakers, which is probably prudent. Filling the dead air when the bakers don't make good telly has been more of a challenge in older episodes IMO. Paul does not have the dominant position as per episode1, smart move,as that would have been a negative.
For me, Prue Leith was someone I aways had heard of, I had never heard of Mary Berry before this show, so MB is no big loss.

So, I just found out there is a Great Canadian Baking Show and it has evidently been around for a number of seasons. Who knew? And if you knew, why didn’t you tell us? Anyone know how we can see those episodes?
And back to our favorite UK version, I also just read on Twitter that if a contestant cried, Mel and Sue would curse so that the footage would have to be edited out and the contestant wouldn’t be humiliated. I love this.
The Great American Baking Show is starting right now. Didn’t even know it was beginning. New season. Double episode tonight. ABC.
I am watching . Hope it works with new hosts added in. And I think the contestants and their personalities also make a difference in how enjoyable it might be .

The designs for the swiss rolls (show stopper) seem quite creative. Should be interesting to see the end product. I have always wanted to make one but have never tried it. Have any of you ever made any of the recipes from the show?
