<p>I want it Friday night at 8 like Avatar was :(</p>
<p>That season finale was AWESOME. It really had me at the edge of my seat and at some points I honestly felt like crying.</p>
<p>As for the show as a whole, it was a bit rushed, though it is a mini-series so they do have to pack things in a bit more. The romance (although I am a Makorra shipper) did seem a bit rushed, but I’ll live.</p>
<p>As for ATLA, I miss the old characters so much! Especially Sokka with his meat and sarcasm :). I think they tried to have Bolin kind of replace Sokka humor-wise, and while Bolin is funny, he just doesn’t compare to Sokka.</p>
<p>All in all, great show though! Can’t wait for Season 2!!</p>

<p>Really? I rather like Bolin, though his character’s been shafted in favor of Mako and his relationship with Korra. Now Meelo, on the other hand… I just don’t like his humor. </p>
<p>The only thing that let me down in the finale (and the rest of the series) was the contrived romance between Mako and Korra. I mean, Mako had a rich, intelligent, nice daughter who was also a badass AND stood up to her father for her beliefs, rather than turning to the equalists due to bitterness. She’s far more mature than Mako deserves, and I don’t think he deserves to be with Korra either. Still, this is romance in a cartoon. </p>
<p>A lot of people are complaining about how the finale should’ve been bittersweet by leaving Korra only able to bend air. In my opinion, it ended just fine because we’ve already seen the process of learning the other three elements with Aang, and the way Korra regained her powers was executed beautifully (c’mon, the music during that scene gave me goosebumps). I know that the creators could’ve left the ending dark, like the finale of Book 2 in ATLA, but considering this was meant to be a stand-alone season which was almost completed before they got greenlit for a second season, I felt that this could’ve functioned as a fitting end if the series ended right here. </p>
<p>Oh, and it needed more Bumi.</p>

<p>But really, her plan is to go and expose Amon, who she has just learned is a blood bender, and is more powerful than Tarrlokk. Who she couldn’t defeat.
Seriously, the three ways I see this going are:
- Amon denies it. Fights Korra. Beats her without bending.
- Amon admits it, but tells the people he is only using it to get rid of bending, they still support him.
- Amon admits it and blood bends everyone.</p>
<p>But actually… did she think about this at all?</p>
<p>I do think it’s a good show, but my other complaint overall is how much weaker bending seems to be compared to ATLA. Korra, the avatar, is about equal to the average bender from ATLA, and the average bender in the LoK can’t do anything. Overall, the benders just seem a lot less powerful.</p>
<p>And why no avatar state or spirit world?</p>
<p>If the series felt rushed it was because it was originally intended to be just a stand alone spinoff mini series, the second season was not ordered by Nick until AFTER the first was already finished, in response to high interest. So really, they couldn’t do a cliffhanger or leave the conflict unresolved because they didn’t even know there would be a second season as they were writing/executing the first. Also, HOLYCRAPONACRACKER I love this show so much, the season finale took me on an emotional rollercoaster…so much tearbending. Definitely did not expect the story of Amon’s past. <em>Spoilers</em> On a different note, who hates Makorra? Their relationship seems so forced and unnatural, I feel like Korra had more chemistry with Bo Lin on their one date/notreallyadate early on in the season than she did with Mako the entire season. /offonatangent…I sympathise for Asami so much, she sacrificed everything when she joined team Avatar and kinda got shortshafted. One last thing, LIN FREAKING BEIFONG IS BACK</p>

<p>Well for one, being set in a major metropolitan area greatly limits the amount of bending one can do, due to collateral damage that may occur. In addition, they’re becoming less in-tune with the original forms of bending, most preferring the more modern styles like the ones utilized in pro-bending. Personally, I don’t see it as weaker, I just see bending in TLOK as adapted to the city environment. Given ample room, I think that most of the main characters can bend as powerfully as shown in TLA. </p>
<p>Oh, she did go into the avatar state though, after Aang gave her back her bending. Though I would like to see some spirit world.</p>
<p>Oh lord my list of complaints after hearing how amazing it was and watching the whole series in one night.
- Blood bending. Like <strong><em>? I don’t even remember that from ATLA at all, but the fact that there were two super rare water benders, who can blood bend, with out the moon, is completely ridiculous. They just tossed that in there like it was always some fact and in fact it wasn’t. Laws of ATLA don’t apply in TLOK apparently.
- Aang. Where we’re you, when everything was falling apart? Legit, bro. Come on. You weren’t even involved but you basically gave Korra back her power. What? No “appearing as a spirit or guidance”, no “hey lookie here, I can help with air bending since I basically GAVE IT BACK TO THE WORLD”. *</em></strong>ing me off just thinking about it.
- How come Aang, the greatest avatar ever, had to struggle to learn each form of bending, but little Ms. Korra just happened to miraculously know how to immediately bend 3 elements? Come on! Unfair.
- The bending. Remember when metal bending was basically unheard of? Or when only one person, who was considered greatly talented, could do it? Now any earth bender who cant bend metal is basically a second rate bender. And fire bending. Remember when only like (forgot her name) Zuko’s sister could do lightning and her uncle? Oh, well now anyone who can bend a spark can make lightning.
- The council members. What. The. Bleep. They had no power. Whatsoever. Could they even bend? Who knows! Because only Tenzen and Tarrlok were important. The others just went with whatever was going on. “oh you said give you ALL the power? Sure”, “You said kill every non bender? Why not?!” those people were idiots with no minds of their own.
- Did I mention how much I hated the bloodbending? Because I really freaking do.
- Where was every character from ATLA? Never once did they explain why no one is alive. Katarra was. Where’s Toff(sp?) ? Sakka? Was te general of the navy Zuko’s kid or not? Idk becaus they never told me.
- Korra had everything handed to her. Aang has to struggle. Yet she whines. Dear lord I wanted to smack her at least twice per episode.
- The flying bison and whatever those momo looking things are. When did they ever find more? Last I knew, it was Appa and Momo. Not like 100 more that they just found. But that’s what it seems like.
- The end. Why? Why take away her powers, give her air bending, have her “deep struggle” remove her “emotional block” and then miraculously get all bending restored to her? She didn’t deserve it. She was weak. She never had to go through anything traumatic(try facing an all powerful king of the fire nation doll face), and yet everything is all good? No. She should have grown as a character by going through some trials that gave more depth to her character. And the fact that Mako just loves her again. They could have gone more into him missing her for it to be realistic. Just maybe a few more scenes of him worrying or him elaborating on how he doesn’t show feeling easily. This would have made the 'ship much more realistic.
- The scarf. I wanted to strangle him with it. I also wanted someone to get rid of it and have him go on some wild rage filled fighting spree. It never happened.</p>
<p>But seriously, I love the show. I can’t wait for the next season and I really hope they get to play around a little more. I know it seems like I tore the show apart but I really REALLY loved the show. :)</p>
<p>I feel bad for asami, because as someone previously mentioned, she had this awesome life and now everything’s completely different for her. She literally has nothing now. She sacrificed a lot for team avatar/mako (okay, and the fact that her dad really is a horrible father) and Mako didn’t ever really officially end things with her. They had that fight in the kitchen but it wasn’t really even that bad and then he was just like HEY I’M GOING TO TELL KORRA I LOVE HER.
But I do like Mako.

- Katarra learned how to blood bend in ATLA.
- Yeah, I thought that was weird too, like how in the first episode she comes out as a little girl and is all I’M THE AVATAR, DEAL WITH IT and is bending all that fire, water, AND earth. I guess she just knows how to do all of those, but is really unrefined or something like that.
- Yeah, seriously, it’s like the council members were all paid off or something. They just go along with everything Tarrlock says and it’s unsettling.
- Yeah, the General of the United Forces is Zuko’s grandson. On wikipedia, it says that Zuko’s 87 and traveling the world and promoting world peace.
- I found Korra kind of annoying, honestly. I like her enough, but some of the other characters are just way cooler in my opinion.
- I thought he’d give it to Asami before he and Korra left to find Amon but then the scarf would be used against them or something, but it never happened. </p>
<p>Seriously, this show is so intense and everyone that watches it is awesome.</p>
<p>Bloodbending existed. There was an entire episode dedicated to it.</p>
<p>If you watch the previous episodes of Avatar (which I have been doing) their bending is pretty weak, especially in the first two seasons. Only towards the end of the second season did their bending become more super awesome. Like when Zuko and Katara are fighting at the North Pole or even earlier, their bending isn’t that great. It gets a lot better, like when their in the crystal catacombs of Ba Sing Se. It develops over time.</p>
<p>And yes, bloodbending existed. The creepy old lady taught it to Katara in season three. Though I do get what you mean by everyone seems to have extraordinary bending abilities. Only a handful of people could bend lightning and now it seems everyone can.</p>

<p>If everyone’s bending was amazing in this season amonn wouldn’t be able to be the antagonist because he is a “non” bender so if say Bolin was the best earth bender around how would amonn capture him?</p>
<p>and I also feel this was WAY to rushed, ATLA had a great STORY whereas LoK just lost its antagonist in the very first season. I love both shows, but i think ATLA will always be better. I hope season 2 is better and planned for a season 3 and 4 so we can have a real story.</p>
<p>Side: Korra and Mako will never reach the level of Aang and Katara in terms of story building.</p>
<p>Again, the reason LoK was rushed is because NICK ORIGINALLY ONLY SIGNED IT FOR ONE SEASON. It was supposed to be just a miniseries. No season 2, UNTIL Nick realized how much people wanted more LoK so they ordered a second season AFTER THE FIRST WAS ALREADY FINISHED. Yes, ATLA was more developed in terms of both character and story, but that’s because they had the security to develop one. A season 3 is not in the works as of yet. Also, General Iroh = the tony stark of the avatar world. I AM IROHMAN</p>
<p>Love story between aang and katara was almost too drawn out if you know what I mean.</p>

<p>nah, I liked the Aang and Katara thing. I suppose it was getting a bit drawn out towards the end after Aang already let Katara know his feelings, but it was realistic. She wasn’t going to get together so soon during a war. She was a well-developed character.</p>
<p>I need to re watch the old bloodbending episode. I really have no idea when that was introduced.</p>
