@the boys: the ‘significant others’ really topped the boards…even the rootsian at yale is one :D

@ Lailak : i absolutely agree with you…i got rejected from Duke, U Chicago, Northwestern, Princeton and Cornell before Wharton’s acceptance…i was **** scared and badly tensed but God’s great and He’s put us all in enviable positions…good luck to everyone and always always believe in Him…

Btw what mountain area did you go to?

i got into Depauw( $40000 scholarship) and WPI($31000) and drake university( 14500) :). and ya from roots!

People, SOO chuffed at reading about all the acceptances. Looks like the girls have owned the guys in the top schools stakes. I doff my hat to all you ‘significant others’. :)

@super_leader. I just LOVE reading your posts. So hyper and energetic. Keep it up. :D

Although it’ll sound quite insignificant now among all the ivy acceptances, i just got an admission offer from Jacobs University, Bremen. Anyone else applied there? I recall theGame applied there or was thinking of applying if i’m not mistaken.

@super_leader

Are you still going to apply next year even if you get into AKU and/or SSE??

Yeaahh we galz rock!! Its really amazing that our parents are so supportive, a few decades back no one could hav imagined girls achieveing so much!!
And LailaK congrats…you really do deserve wot you’ve achievened Mashallah!! I’m sure u’ll be a gem wherever you go and make Pakistan proud!! Keep it going! :D

Wow. Never thought the gender of this thread could change overnight. Guess what? It has.

@khan91: I thought better of applying to JUB mainly bcoz I found out that the visa app process of Germany takes even longer than that of the States. So no use applying. D

And super_leader’s logic of avoiding parties was funny heheheheheheh
Congrats on the JUB acceptance :D

@Zapoo…yup i will giv it a shot again even if i get into SSE or AKU… hope my SSE interview goes well…i just need to keep my head and stop gawking at them tryin to figure out which one of them iz a psycologist!!!

Welcome sehrishaks! Rootsians talkin’ over!
We’re all proud of your acceptances. :)

@ Game. I was thinking about the same thing! Over-night!
I *re-*recall that day Game said "Pakistani Thread - Gender, strictly male! :)

@ all the significant-others. Really proud of you guys! Hope you get rid of the Pakistani students’ stereotypes! LOL

Dont take me wrong but its a FACT that american universities prefer females as fas as Pakistan goes. A female cousin is in stanford, 100% scholarship, now doing masters. Her brother, virtually the same stats cudn’t get into an IVY and believe me, both had excellent everything. And my uncle and his friends vouch for it too. (they take MIT interviews, KHI and LHR)

@ joiya550

That’s not entirely true. Yes, to some extent some schools might do that but it cannot be generalized because admission standards are very different at different schools. However, it is the policy of the US government and often times most of the schools to recruit students from war torn areas like Pakistan and Afghanistan. The US has opened visas’s for students from Pakistan precisely because of the War and everything. So all those who are applying for a Visa, Rejoice!

I second Joiya550’s claim! Especially if you are a girl applying to MIT, Stanford, Caltech as engineering as your major!

@Talha and TheGame: I heard there was someone who got into Wharton from Roots, please do let me know if that is true!

@ Shahwaiz. There is guy, he was getting A LOT of likely letters, and our counselor was 95% sure he’d get into Wharton. But, he also got rejected.

@ Joiya550. I guess its somewhat true, but we can’t label the significant others’ hard work just by saying…

It sounds really mean! =/ I’m sure it takes a lot to get into Yale, UC-Berkeley and all the other really prestigious universities.

@talha_adnan: so no Penn from Roots, or anywhere?

Well obviously the girls who got into the top colleges in the US deserved to get admitted. But if 2 applicants with the same stats and achievements are considered they’d prefer a female over a male.
