The University of Tampa Early Action/Rolling for Fall 2023 Admission

I’m thinking about pulling my application from here. They have been less than helpful and their wait time for decisions is crazy for such a small and lowly ranked school. I already got into USF and that is cheaper and has much better resources if I decide to go to Tampa.

Me too. I got accepted to Florida Tech and Nova Southeastern if I want to go to Florida. Plus Clemson, which has a much better psychology program for what I plan to do!

Did everyone get the email from them about their own form for student aid?

yes

Has anyone heard anything about these decisions for EA?

nada…I believe I saw “mid February” somewhere though

Thanks. That’s insanely late for EA at such a small school.

I feel like I saw something that said by the end of February…super late for EA.

My portal just changed to include a new test scores we have recieved box. Don’t know if that means anything, probably not.

Just randomly checked my portal to see if there were any changes and I’ve been accepted! It says the admittance letter is still being generated so I can’t see if there is any merit mentioned.

Just got in as well. Does anyone know what kind of merit they offer? I was surprised because I thought that decisions weren’t coming out until next month.

Also, does anyone know why the acceptance rate is so low (i.e. per US News - it had only a 26% acceptance rate last year). I though that the acceptance rate would be much higher because of the lower SAT median. I guess University of Tampa is just really popular?

I got a second email saying that within the next 72 hours I would get an email with information to log into the financial aid portal…I don’t know if maybe any merit will be listed in there.

Do you know if the portal will show if they got admitted into Honors?

My daughter accepted too! Merit may be after you get next email (72 hrs)

It has definitely gotten popular, yes!

I think it is popular for students with low scores who don’t really stand a chance at U Miami or other Florida private schools. It’s easy to get in with a high score.
