This will take some time . . .

Can you edit your posts once you post? The old CC had this feature - you could edit for something like 15 minutes after posting - and I really liked it. Do they still have it and I’m missing it?

Yes you can edit…hover your curser over in the right corner of your post. You have an hour to edit. You will see a little black wheel…click on that :)

Connections, my son would be happy to help you, but it couldn’t be for a couple of days because he is currently having computer problems. I’ll contact you when he is ready, okay?

Basically, he used photoshop and downloaded the image. Glassharmonica and Prodesse made similar avatars. Maybe one of them could provide some guidance? Possibly one of your sons could do it for you, if either is handy with photoshop?

I might have my son change my background from pink to light yellow. It’s a little pinker than I had envisioned!

NJTheatreMom, I love the pink. It’s really nice. Alas, my sons are not particularly tech savvy. I will try to figure this out–I’ve never used photoshop and it’s about time!

connections, I’ll make one for you. (If you don’t own Photoshop.)

I use the free software called GIMP. I am told it can do pretty much everything Photoshop can do, it is a free download, and there are lots of online tutorials. So far I am not very skilled, so I seize any opportunity to use it for something. I am in awe of Glassharmonica’s diagonal lettering!

Wish they would have kept the yellow circles indicating a new post…oh well

Thanks for the ideas!!!

Nice avatar, photomom5.

I just realized when you click on someone’s avatar you can read messages that seem private. Has anyone else noticed that?

I think those are messages written on their wall so to speak. I don’t think those are PM’s. I could be wrong.

Oh, I see. Still trying to get used to this format.

I have 13 points…what does that mean?

I think there is still a glitch with the PMs. Seems like a few random messages from years ago may/may not be visible to others. Some with text, some with just headers. I believe the IT folks are aware, and trying to fix the issue.

mountainhiker, the messages everyone can see on your profile (in your case, from 2012) are called “visitor’s messages.” They are NOT PMs. Those have ALWAYS been public, even on the old site. Members just didn’t access their profiles as easily as they do now.

They are not PMs, they are wall messages-- CC has always had this feature but my guess is that people used it mostly by accident.

Thanks for the clarification, MaineLonghorn and glassharmonica!
