“[My mom] and I got into a really, really bad car accident when I was, like, one,” Maria told Joey. “A semi-truck basically fell on top of my mom’s car. It was really bad. It’s crazy to even think about. My car seat was in, like, pieces. I was literally announced dead at the scene. It was in newspapers as a miracle at the time. It was a very scary situation.”
She posted a TikTok about her time on the show, and she shared the newspaper clipping of the accident. The clipping showed the image of the truck turned over on the road on top of Maria’s mother’s car. “That is them trying to get my mom and I out of the car,” she said, drawing attention to a photo of safety personnel working next to the crushed vehicle. “It took my mom a couple of hours for her to get out of the car. … Literally, it says, ‘Mom and baby cheat death in car squashed like a pancake.”
I thought they were setting Maria up to be the next Bachelorette. But, after last night, I’m not so sure. They usually choose someone who is able to fall in love quickly. The past couple of weeks, it has seemed like Maria was trying to stay in the game. Not sure why - maybe for followers. Maybe for something like BIP.
DS2 called me today to talk about this episode because it’s all over TikTok with outsized reactions, and he knew I was watching last night as he called me in the middle of the episode and I shooed him off the phone. I told him that I knew exactly what those watch parties were seeing when they all erupted.
You never know about the edits, but I told ds that Joey just seems so emotionally mature. I really thought that he’d keep Maria for the fantasy suite if nothing else, but I appreciate him not keeping her around because she just can’t commit. He’s not interested in playing conquest games. Unbelievably, i think he’s really there for all the right reasons!

Was I the only one rooting for Kelsey’s dad as the next Golden Bachelor? Gosh I really liked that guy!

I thought Maria’s dad was going to be more harsh. I just don’t think Maria is ready for this type of relationship. Rachel rightly was ready to blow her top at Maria at the rose ceremony. Interrupting AGAIN?!!
Yeah Kelsey has grown on me. I think she is fully IN. Her family was lovely. Her dad was so supportive and so handsome!
I love Rachel but I just don’t think the connection is there between them. He is mature but she seems even more so. I don’t think she will win but I wish her to find someone soon
Daisy….she is so cautious and I don’t know if she is at the point in her life far enough past her Illness to have Joey in her life. I think she still needs her family to fill her cup. As she said, regardless she comes out a better person because of the experience.
How much did Jesse get paid for coming out from behind that plane for 10 secs on the entire episode!!? Haha
I’m wondering whether we are getting the producer’s cut on Rachel, like there’s more there that they aren’t showing.
Maria got so much air time so for her to not even get to the fantasy suites is interesting to me. Bachelor Nation wants her to be the next Bachelorette, but I’m not sure she’s the right match. Of those left, Daisy seems most cut out for that.
I’m a little tempted to go read the final spoilers, because I really want to know what happens. I’m starting to think all the edits that make it look like Joey was left at the altar are for drama, like how they made Maria’s dad out to be so rough when he really was a big softie.

Agree with all you said. I wonder if the note he gets next week is from Maria? Remember how Aaron showed up at Charity’s fantasy suite week after he was booted off?

I was listening to a Bachelor podcast this morning and they said they knew from the start at Maria’s hometown that Joey was off the Maria train. They felt he was too laid back and comfortable - and not worried about her Dad because he wasn’t going to pursue her. Interesting.
Looks like some of the Golden ladies come to the rescue/advice in the next episode. Who did we see? Leslie, Susan and…one more???

I predict he wants to propose to Daisy but she ditches him. And I agree that Maria could make a comeback appearance. This is all speculation - I am trying my best to avoid spoilers!!
I wonder what their plans are for Rachel. I like her, but I don’t see him choosing her and I can’t see her as the next lead.
Well, they certainly don’t have to have a plan for everyone! And with no BIP this summer there isn’t that pot to dump anyone into!
She is a nurse, she has a great career to go back to. 
After meeting her family, the whole concept of this show and this way of dating - and even getting to know her a bit - seems out of her wheelhouse. (and as I said, I really like her!)

Well, where are we headed folks?
I don’t think Rachel stands a chance - she just can’t seem to relax and enjoy her time/moments. What a terrible accident in the water! That had to be SO scary! Props to Joey for insisting “you are not ok”!
I thought Kelsey was a shoo-in. I think Leslie blew her mind! I have to say I don’t think Keslie did her any favors! Now this note…will she give Joey an ultimatum?
Does she or Daisy not show up for their prospective proposal??
My other scenario in mind is….Daisy keeps saying how no matter what Joey has given her life and confidence back…does she turn him down saying that she needs time to think now that she has gained her confidence in life back??
All 3 of these women seem like really truly sweet woman. I think at least 2 are going to be devastated. 
I think it is odd that they had the Golden Bachelor women on. That show hadn’t even aired when Joey’s season started filming. Joey’s women had no idea who they were talking to.
I think you’re right but why would Leslie give away that she was 2nd in the finale??

I refuse to read spoilers so I have no idea, but my guess is Kelsey exits on her own, and I agree that Rachel is out of contention which leaves Daisy, and I’m not sure she is all in…maybe he really does get left at the proverbial altar, which is why they’ve been highlighting his 'I want someone to pick me too" plea all season…no idea…the longer it runs the more sorry I feel for him…
