Tuition Exchange for Fall 2024 (Class of 2028)

We received an email that was sent directly to my daughter and both her father and I were copied. It stated “Your TEP award for the 2024-2025 academic year is $42,000.” There was no mention of stacking. I’m guessing they do not stack, but it is a good question.

The TE site was also updated today. So nice to see the consistency. I bet your email will arrive very soon. Congrats!

The website indicates they allow Pell Grants and other Grants: Tuition Exchange - Meet the Staff

Other schools often list “scholarships” when referring to merit. So they may not stack merit. But you should check with your AO.

We received the same email. D24 applied RD and TE and we got the email today. Some disxuased withdrawing her TE because she has it from school number 1 but until it’s in her portal we’re not removing anything from anywhere yet. We didn’t change a things t Bucknell because it’s not number one.

Unless you know it’s your number one school, it’s really tricky to do ED with TE. And even if a school was your number one choice, what if you got in, but did not get TE? We are not going to choose the ED option. I just hope that it doesn’t throw off the acceptance rate numbers for students sticking with RD (and for TE, too).

We applied to Bucknell but I don’t think my son got that email. (but its possible he got it and deleted it, I highly doubt it though).

AND, on the upside it means my son was actually checking his email!

I work at Bryant, but I am not sure when they release TE. I’m just lurking here planning NEXT year. Bryant is a terrific school, just not a fit for my artsy son. I’d have no problem sending my child there - the students are known and cared for. Good luck, whatever your child decides!

Has anyone heard from Duquesne? They should be releasing about now (last year it was 2/2). They are a <10% school.

Anyone hear from Pitt?

Not here.

Waiting on Duquesne also. I’ll post if and when we hear something.

Nope

For schools in both programs (CIC-TEP and TE), do published TE rates of award (-10%, 11 to 40%, and so on) have ANYTHING to do with the likelihood of CIC awards?

Twin A awarded TE at Rose Hulman today. Unclear if stacks with prior scholarship yet.

Last year my kid initially got ~$27K merit and ~$10K need aid at Rose for a total of ~$37K. That still put us $6K over our EFC, so they didn’t meet full need (which wasn’t surprising). Was later awarded TE and it replaced all the previous aid, except he was allowed to stack it with his scholarship for attending operation catapult. So the total aid with TE was $43,500. Which did meet our EFC but that was just a coincidence.

Did anyone apply for TE at Rider or Dean this year?

My kid received TE at Rider on 11/7

Yup, both but haven’t heard on TE. Admitted to Dean but waiting on Rider because the major is audition based. You?

Received letter from JCU today - no stacking with their financial aid. Do you remember it being at set rate a year ago?

We received an email from Drake today. Financial need is a factor in their TE decisions so their decisions are delayed until they get the FAFSA information.
