Tuition Exchange for Fall 2024 (Class of 2028)

Hopefully, this softens the disappointment with Stamps.

Congrats to all! Twin A denied TE and told no waitlist. We thankful for good merit ($20k/yr + smaller engineering scholarship).

Seems likely she will not attend Pitt. Better offers elsewhere.

Does anyone know if TE at Pitt covers study abroad tuition ? I know housing is separate.

The answer appears to be yes. Tuition Exchange is not mentioned explicitly, but there is a link to this page.

7. Global Experiences

Students who enroll through the Global Experiences program may receive their scholarships during that term (provided they enroll in a full–time, 12 credits minimum, Pitt approved/recognized program). Out-of-state students participating in an eligible Global Experience program who are the recipients of a full-tuition scholarship (including students receiving Chancellor, Faison, Lavelle, Henderson, and Davis scholarships) will have their scholarship adjusted up to the in-state Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences tuition rate plus a 50% differential for the term of enrollment in Global Experiences. In-state students receiving a full-tuition scholarship (including Chancellor, Faison, Lavelle, Henderson, and Davis scholarships) will have their scholarship adjusted to the Pennsylvania Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences tuition rate for the term of enrollment for Global Experiences. Contact the Global Experiences Office for further details. No scholarship payments are made during any term in which a student enrolls in a co-op/ internship program.

My son received the email saying he was awarded TE to Pitt. Does anyone know where this info is in the dashboard? I feel dumb that I can’t find it or any details about honors college.

It may not have been posted yet, just the email. I don’t believe honors notification have been sent yet. The TE website hasn’t even been updated yet

The TE website takes a long time to update in my opinion.

S24 was denied tuition exchange at Pitt.

We were denied too. I was still hoping, but seeing the stats of the kids who got it last year- I knew there was a slim chance. I do wish they kept a waitlist though, it somehow hurts to hear- ā€œhey- we gave it to a bunch of people, but even if they don’t take it we still don’t want to give it to you. There are a limited number available, but no matter what- you weren’t getting one.ā€ Sigh. Although I guess it is also good that we know what the final answer is.

We turned down TE at FF yesterday. It’s a great school. hopefully, one of you on here who is on the waitlist will get it. Good luck.

it was never updated in the dashboard for my D22. It appears to be separate from that system.

Congrats on so many great options! I’m lurking as a class of 2025 mom, and was wondering if folks will be putting stats/acceptances into a spreadsheet like they did last year? I found that so helpful! Ha, no pressure now when you’re all deep in the stress of the process, but would love to see a spreadsheet populated with the class of 2024 admissions.
Good luck on the rest of the process. Cheering on your kids and hoping for happy outcomes!

LOL! I’ll happily add our results to a spreadsheet if someone points me to one…

This is how Pitt describes its selection process. Note that test scores are not considered.

We award a limited number of Tuition Exchange Scholarships every year to incoming first-year students. In the 2023-2024 academic year, we received 500+ applications for these limited spaces, so please be aware that this is a very competitive process. We evaluate students based on their weighted grade point average, the rigor of curriculum (AP/IB/Honors courses), and class rank (if applicable). In addition, various non-numerical, holistic factors, as presented in the personal statement or Common Application essay, that describe the candidate’s background are also a part of the review process. These holistic factors allow for a diverse and multi-talented student body. Holistic criteria may include exceptional and unique talents; commitment to community service and leadership; significant family, job, or community responsibility; and contributions to cultural, economic, or racial diversity. Please note, SAT/ACT results are not used in the scholarship review process.

I’ll add my student’s info if someone creates a spreadsheet. Also, if you want to PM me I’m happy to give you my child’s stats.

There’s a spreadsheet from last year we can add to that’s linked at the top. Perhaps we can add a column in the beginning with year so that it can all be on one spreadsheet but people know year the data is from

I think would be better to make a new tab
for the year with the same columns. I believe @Excel_Dad created it. If he is ok with it I can see if it is editable and I can create a new tab for this year. It was so helpful to have access to all of that info.

Agreed! One of our top choices does not offer a waitlist, either. It’s hard to discern the logic behind such a policy. With R & B being such a money maker, not filling the TE spots seems like a missed financial opportunity.
