Did you add SMU? Is that Southern Methodist University? St. Mary’s University? I want to make sure I have the right one.
Sorry- Southern Methodist University
Thanks, I updated it.
our experience in 2022 was that Naviance is not accurate. Students don’t all update it. It doesn’t take in to consideration ECs. etc Schools that looked like targets were definitely reaches and it made for a disappointed senior. We found Naviance to be super unhelpful overall.
also, I am sorry your student had that experience. It stinks for sure!
It’s fine, it wasn’t her favorite anyway. I actually ended up in a conversation with a person from the department we’d met with and shared how much she’d liked the department, and when it came up that she was ultimately rejected, and even that person was flabbergasted - it’s that much of a safety school! - and asked if she could look into it, mostly to know why admissions was rejecting folks!
hmmm maybe it was a true example of the much discussed (by students) yield protection.
We just got the F&M decision, my son got in but did not get tuition exchange. It is a really expensive school. It is $87k and he got $15k merit so not gonna happen. There was a link to be put on a list as an alternate so we did choose that, they did not use the term waitlist but I assume it’s the same thing.
Did your son first get an email when the decision would be on the portal? My son got an email from F&M yesterday that is decision would be on the portal March 12th. So I guess they are rolling out decisions?
Yes, there are two dates, tonight and March 12. We were trying to make sense out of the two different dates but honestly, I think it might be something like regionally divided etc. I initially assumed my son had to be rejected because of so many clear admits in the March 12 group, so I don’t think the two dates indicate anything.
Okay, thanks for the info. We anticipate an admission but really aren’t expecting TE. My other son Class of 2025 didn’t get TE at F&M but did get a lot of merit.
Anyone hear feel Hofstra yet?

Got an email from Southern Methodist that the FAFSA delay has delayed their decisions for TE, and that the will try to let applicants know by the 3rd or 4th week of March.
I’ve been following these TE discussions for a while now. Thanks to everyone who posted over the years; information here was invaluable to our search. My DD received TE at Creighton this week (for nursing). Based on comments I’ve read over the years we made every SoCal event that they held and flew out to Omaha for Blue Jay Day last spring. Very grateful for the selection and thankful that I ran across these posts a couple of years ago as I followed the advice I read here.
Congrats! Amazing program. I want my d25 to keep Creighton on her list but don’t think she will. That area is really growing!
Congratulations! Would you mind adding to our spreadsheet or I can?
It is really nice to have the spreadsheet out early this year so that we can see which schools are making offers.
So I added my daughter with a GPA range similar to the 3.0-3.4 group thread. Feels a little too personal to me to put her numbers out there but I think the range is helpful and may encourage others to post.
I am truly amazed at all the high achieving students in this group. So impressive!! Kudos
My daughter just was awarded TE full tuition at Alfred University. I just added to the spreadsheet.
I’ll be adding mine with similar data once we have any updates. Thank you for sharing yours!
