We definitely found one where it seemed to be interest based. I congratulated myself for my Instagram stalking
Interest as in showing interest in the school that is.

Yep very important smaller schools
Our D24 TE journey just ended: Awarded at Bard, St. Johnâs, St. Lawrence. Waitlisted skid. Updating and ready to get on the TE (and CIC) train next year with D25!
Do you have a front runner yet?
I donât think she does. We are kind of stunned she got three of four. Currently St. Johnâs is on top financially, and is not like anywhere else. Bard has only had a couple of hours to soak in. St. Lawrence hasnât had a chance to add need via FAFSA. Middleburyâs grants have them right with these other three, and several come out this weekend. Vassar will announce ⊠some day. We will certainly be declining as quick as we know anything so that others could use the benefit.
Do you feel comfortable sharing which school that was?
Sure, Seattle University. Not sure if they really track but it seemed to be the case for us.
Great choices for you to have to make. Congrats!!
Fantastic news - congrats! Is that St. Johnâs in Annapolis? I was impressed to see they offer full tuition.
Yep. Annapolis. Theyâve been amazing. Great info, very human with every touch or contact. Very easy to like.
Has anyoneâs child picked their school yet? We have not and it feels so late. Still waiting on one more TE decision, and a status update on a wait list.
We have not and really arenât even close. Waiting on FAFSA for those schools that didnât award TE and still waiting on admission results from one school.
In at her top pick and CIC school, no word on CIC - I am going to talk to a colleague that has been down this road tomorrow to get tips before emailing.
We are also still waiting. A few still waiting on admission but waiting on TE at five places. Only American and Clark told us (by email) that they could not award TE. No word from the others and nothing in the portal yet.
This process was wrapped up much earlier when my older daughters were applying two years ago. I believe the FAFSA delay had an effect, at least for some schools.
Still waiting on TE and FAFSA to have full $$ picture for current acceptances, plus decisions from a handful of reaches. Youâre not alone!
S23 did not pick until literally a day or two before decision day May 1st last year!
FWIW, the only one of ours that updated via portal was Bard. The others notified via email. I kind of reckon theyâll do the rest if we commit.
This process feels like it is taking too long for me too. I emailed all the TE schools we are still waiting to hear from today. Figured If any really positive news comes in we could fit in a visit during Spring Break. Once we have that information I feel like we can have better conversations with D about options for next year.
Before we went through the TE process with D20, I was mentally prepared for the process to go well into March or April. To my surprise, she had all of her TE decisions by Feb. So of course my brain recalculated expectations for this go-around (though, logically, I knew with the RD school, she wouldnât have an admission decision until March). All of that to say this process seems waaaayyyyy too long for me this year. Waiting anxiously on one decision, which Iâm assuming must be tied to the FAFSA delays (the other school that already notified was a CSS school, so already had our info).
We have tentatively booked an accepted student weekend visit to the school for early April. I am praying we have a TE decision by then. If no TE, the school comes out of consideration, and Iâd happily not spend $$ on travel/hotel.
Interesting as Tulane told me they were âneed basedâ thus never was awarded it because I did not fill out the Fin Aid forms. They wouldnât even process mine until I did which I told them we would not because TE said that its not âneed basedâ. Did you fill out the forms?
