Tuition Exchange for Fall 2025 (Class of 2029)

I’m waiting on this one as well. Plus DePaul!!

It’s the only one my kiddo would consider so we will cross our fingers. Seems like it’s very competitive, though. Fortunately she has some other non TE options but both her grandparents are Blue Hens and would love to have another in the family.

Got a denial from Boston College for FACHEX

Just makes me so mad. The Jesuits brag about this is such an excellent employee benefit yet they don’t list the fine print which is the award is almost impossible to get! Basically it is only “guaranteed” most of the time if your kid chooses the college you teach at.

S23 was denied TE at both of the Jesuit FACHEX schools he applied to. D25 was waitlisted/denied for 2 FACHEX schools and only awarded it at the one oos Jesuit school that sadly does not have the major she switched to.

My daughter is next on the waitlist, how does that work? Do they give you any notice before the May 1 deadline? She has been awarded TE at another institution but is waiting to commit for the waitlisted school. Any advice?

Hi there. Just curious if you heard anything?!

I don’t have specific advice, just optimism - I feel like there’s a very good chance SOMEONE who got TE will decide to go to another school for various reasons. Fingers crossed - that’s sounding very hopeful to me!

I inquired at Marquette and they said that they plan to send out offers “over the upcoming days”.

Anyone else still waiting on RD from TE schools? We still have four to go. I keep checking the TE portal to see if they might accidentally signal an acceptance there before the official decision. (Wishful thinking.) It’s also the only portal D25 let me access.

Even though we’re not FACHEX, I hear you and totally feel your frustration and disappointment. This process would be at least LESS of dart throwing and a little more focused if more schools were simply transparent. They know based on recent historical data how many applicants they’re expecting. They also know how many they will award (at least roughly). For instance at SLU, we were told they awarded 5 for just under 250 applicants this year. We knew they were expecting over 200 applicants, but we didn’t know how many they award. If we knew ahead of time that it was 2% (they were previously listed as 11-40% on the portal before most of the percentage stats were removed… we found those to be highly inaccurate for the schools on our list anyway) - we would not even spend our time, money, and effort there. If the schools simply give the exact percentage they awarded the previous year (not some nebulous outdated range), and, all of the schools adopt a consistent set of deadlines , the process would be much easier. The mid or late April decisions are brutal especially if you have a major like our son that requires a much earlier commitment - you simply can’t wait. While some schools were totally transparent with us up front and during the process, several liaisons we communicated with would not give any numerical data. It’s such a crap shoot - unless you have an elite student (not just good, or excellent), or are applying to all schools that are known to give it to everyone, or almost everyone who is eligible (usually the really small schools). Like so many have said on this forum, cast a WIDE net and don’t get your hopes up on ANY school, even if you think it’s not a stretch school.

Yes! We’re waiting on Boston University (longshot). Regular decision will come out March 22 but I have no idea how long after to hear about tuition exchange.

This wait is so agonizing! One comes out this weekend, but the others have been silent about when decisions drop. And D25 is determined to wait until they’re all back to look. I’m not sure if she really has the patience to wait. The RDs we’re waiting on are all need aware. I fear that will hurt D25’s chances, but hoping maybe they’ll want her enough to not care. I’m not sure if TE makes a difference there or not.

Did you get a NO from Univ of Delaware? or a Waitlist?

It was a no as the waitlist wasn’t mentioned unfortunately.

Was yours a No or a Waitlist from UD? Trying to figure out how many they gave and if there’s a waitlist of students for TE

My kid got it from Delaware today, but we just turned it down, so hopefully a waitlist spot just opened up! (she had withdrawn the TE application there a few weeks ago, but I guess it was already too far along in the system)
