Rejected -but not a surprise! Happy for everyone that got in!

For future applicants –> Stats: 3.77 unweighted, great ECs, great letters – but require financial support (not a winning combo for Tulane and we were aware of that).

My son got in with a $30k/year Distinguished Scholars Award! He is pumped, and Tulane is certainly on his very short list.

Stats for reference:

ACT: 34

UW GPA: 3.94

Lots of demonstrated interest through webinars, emails to admissions, etc.

Hello, my son was accepted, but I don’t see mention of any scholarship award. Would this be in the offer letter? Thanks

Yes, should be in acceptance letter if he got merit scholarship.

Guys what should be the acceptance rate for EA Tulane?

I heard 16%, however it might be lower this year.

For those that got deferred, be prepared you’re likely going to get a series of emails suggesting you ā€œmay want to switch your application to ED2ā€. For those that it’s their tippy top choice, run the NPC and see if it will be financially feasible before doing it. The RD acceptance rate the last few years has been in the low single digits and by most rumor focuses on ā€œarea’s of institutional needā€.

Congrats to all that got in!! You have a great option in front of you even if you don’t attend.

Thanks for the heads up! My son was deferred. I don’t think he will ED because we haven’t been able to visit (big investment coming from Calif.). He attended a school session and virtual tour, and we were hoping to visit after an acceptance. :frowning: Do you think applicants expressing more interest (LOCI etc) at this stage helps? It sounds like it might just be time to move on … My son’s stats are aligned to Tulane’s middle 50 but not above. Thanks!

My advice is based on my view of things and not suggestive that you should share the same view.

With a deferral and not shifting to ED, I would likely move on mentally but there’s no reason not to continue engagement with the school. I’d also think it depends on what other applications your son has in the mix and where he thinks those might land.

A LOCI can only help. Look up and see is Admissions is holding any information sessions near you. Make sure he opens any emails and clicks through them a little.
