Tbh I feel like Brandon might be wrong this time. The only time that Berkeley began releasing so late was 2022, when they only accepted 44 students. I feel like if they’re really gonna accept a lot they probably would have started sending out acceptance on or before May 15th. They reason that they still don’t know how many they can admit is probably that they estimate to have very few spots to begin with.
well i do know that the sir date was changed from may 1 to may 15 so maybe that might have something to do with it but i don’t know if ill totally write them off since he mentioned actually speaking to admissions officers but then again im just coping atp PLEASE I HOPE YOU’RE WRONG ■■■■■
there’s also some other people that are assuming that berkeley will have a higher waitlist acceptance rate. here’s a google sheet i found: University of California Admissions and Waitlist Data - Google Sheets
Uhmm Brandon just commented under his video “I think we might see a tiny tiny bit of movement in the next couple of weeks but overall Berkeley likely won’t accept that many of their WL”
NOOO bruh he got me so excited lol
at the end of the day it’s all speculation. he said berkeley would have a lot of WL movement for class of 28’ but ended up having practically no movement. just a couple of weeks ago, he said there’d be a lot of WL movement for berkeley and now he might say there’ll be little WL movement just to play safe, in the event that berkeley doesn’t take a lot of people off since it’s 2 weeks in and there’s been no movement.
only the admissions office knows how many people will be taken off, and hopefully we’ll see some movement this week. let’s hold out hope till the first wave actually drops.
Agreed. Its easier for these people to say that they won’t admit many from the waitlist rather than saying that they will admit many from the waitlist since if they are wrong they could just say “oh I guess they are accepting more of the waitlist this year”
Bro what. I did not know that his predictions were so off last year. For some reason he was portrayed as a highly accurate source…
you’ve got to be kidding all of these college counselors know that high schoolers are gonna whole heartedly believe what they say
The UC system has emailed all waitlisted applicants who have accepted the waitlist, to withdraw from any other previously accepted UC- campus. Reckon there will be some movement as applicants withdraw from their previously accepted campuses.
S25 has withdrawn from Berkeley in favor of UCLA
Yeah called the admission office today.

Waitlist has not started moving

It usually starts in June ???

Asked for both Intl student and EECS/CS. For both he said only usually only a very small pocket of students would be accepted, so he can’t really tell if there will be spots this year.
EECS/CS is always in high demand, so it is true. Wondering about other majors. All UCs started accepting wait lists long time back, but Berkeley is taking so much time.
i hope there’s some room in cnr
S25 withdrew from CNR last week.
lol thanks! hopefully that gives me a chance lol
does that mean the waitlist will start in june?
If so then that would be REALLY late, i don’t think people have ever had to wait until June for waitlist decisions for the first round. Kinda sucks ig
June is definitely a little late… even the Ivy League schools with a higher yield than Berkeley have taken off students from the waitlists and most other schools would at least communicate with students about their plans. It is annoying when schools aren’t transparent.
Ideally, let’s hope we’ll see some movement starting this Friday at the latest. I’ll go on one last virtual front desk call and hopefully connect with a helpful AO like last time because I don’t think those handling just the phone calls know about the plans completely.
did anyone call today?
Has anyone tried campus solutions recently to see if they have an ID???
