Just heard from an individual who stated their sources state UC Berkeley will accept less than 50 applicants.
Who did you hear from and what was their source…

Ok guys I just joined their virtual front desk, and here is what I got. I was directed to a student who is very nice and enthusiastic.

They are not going to release more informations regarding the waitlist.

She told me that we are getting an update on June 1st.

She believes that the update is a decision. Either an acceptance or a rejection. (So basically they are closing their waitlist?)

Interesting that a final decision will be given on a single day rather than in waves… because space can always open up. But regardless, a definitive date is better than more waiting. Thanks for calling. I’ll join the zoom and see if there’s any info I can gather.
Edit: I called and got a generic response that I’ll receive an update by August 1st. So I guess we’ll hopefully hear positive news on June 1st or see some sort of WL movement. Interestingly though, June 1st is a Sunday.
how many acceptances do you guys predict there will be?
If they are releasing everything on one day, I’d assume that they’ll close the waitlist on that day too. So the yield was probably pretty high this year, meaning we won’t see a lot of admits. All we can do is wait and hope.
What do you mean by point 1?
Also, was she confident in point 3? Or was that just her best guess?
I asked her had there been any waitlist movement/would there be any waitlist movement. She told me that they can’t release more specific information about the waitlist. I think point 3 is probably just her best guess.

on reddit, someone said that one of their friends got off for berkeley but like nobody is providing proof or responding
i sent in an email asking about waitlist and when we should expect any movement and if anyone has gotten off. i dont rlly expect a super detailed response but let’s see if they say anything of substance
