We’re probably not seeing another IS wave for a while. This one seemed to be one of the bigger ones
Probably just because L&S includes so many people/applicants/majors?
were there any math majors that got admitted IS today? praying I still have a chance
I didn’t see any but I don’t think it matters since The College doesn’t admit by major.
do you think there’ll be another wave for letters and sciences? i’m a polisci major
@Gumbymom Im also wondering this… do you think this may have been it, and we’ll only see rare admits moving forward?
I am IS.
In past years there have been multiple waves (not sure if they were based on major), so they could do the same this year right?
Honestly the only “big” wave last year was the one on May 6. The one today may have been the big one.
Do you know international is having any other chances?
I got the email at 6:29 am and I have until the 27th. However, I will be accepting tonight.
I cannot really say what is going to happen regarding the waitlist. Every year is different and unpredictable.
Will there still be more waves for instate letters and sciences?
Probably depends upon how many waitlisted admits accept their admission.
So we shouldn’t expect another wave until next week after the 7 days have passed?
I have learned over the years not to have any expectations and if they have another wave, then it is a nice surprise.

Are you saying this because waitlist admits have been rare after the one “big” wave in past years
No, what I am saying is you cannot rely on previous years waitlist admit history. Many factors can contribute to how many students they take off the waitlist each year and every year is different. The enrollment models they use to predict their target enrollment cannot take into account the impact of the delayed FA packages due to the FASFA issues nor the campus protests this year.
So I always recommend that waitlisted students consider it a soft rejection and move on.
As many individuals stated Love the school that loves you back.
I personally understand the reason for the waitlists, but I do not like the uncertainty and anxiety it causes for many students. It is admissions purgatory.
Rejections hurts for while, then you move on. But with waitlist the uncertainty sucks.
