My daughter is on waitlist for Econ , was there a Econ wave already ?
It seems like they are not having more waves.
@Amerland Why?
@Amerland Yesterday was a federal holiday so they couldn’t have released a wave yesterday. There may be one more this week.
Hey all I had a friend know an admissions officer, and apparently they said they are almost at full capacity, and probably won’t be releasing another wave (if they will it won’t be very large) can’t guarantee anything but thought i would let you all know! good luck!
Did they give a number??
@nervoussenior111 damn that sucks to hear Do you know how reliable the person is? I guess we’ll just have to hope for a smaller wave sometime in the future.
any updates?!?!
When do waitlists “end”? Late juneish?
Transfer waitlists started coming out so it’s prob not happening for us
Typically Waitlists for ucs end June 1. It is most definitely done. My insider said not to keep hopes up, a few individuals may get in but there will not be another wave.
how do u know this person ??
I subscribe to Sixth College on Facebook. Yesterday they posted a notice to current students that it was the last day for the coronavirus testing round designed to detect rate of infection and determine how/if they are able to be on-campus in the fall. The construction of 2,000 more dorms expected to be finished summer 2020 was halted as well (Sixth College still moving to the new campus, they say). It’s plausible they still don’t know how many students they can ultimately admit. My son was accepted UCSB and they notified that they will determine housing configurations on 6/19. Governor Newsom is leaving it to the counties to determine how/when to reopen. SD and SB counties have their own criteria. The coronavirus numbers are very different in SD vs. SB. I went to UCSB and it’s a pretty isolated, one highway resort area. That said, the schedule of classes has been released for each campus. Both show on-campus classes, though the class maximums seem much lower than I remember. I didn’t see any over 50. Though I didn’t look at GE intro classes which tend to be in the hundreds in big lecture halls and theatres. Not sure if this confirms in-person classes for fall.
This person is a family friend, an admissions officer, but not for my area (so not a conflict of interest.) I was taken off the waitlist three weeks ago, but declined my offer. However, I’m still on UCBs waitlist, and it has given me much anxiety and insider information has been really helpful. So, I thought it would be helpful to relay any info to you all.
if theyre full can they just reject us already its stupid leading us on this far. I wouldve thought theyd let more ppl in bc of the whole covid situation and intl students but whatever
If they’re done, are they likely to start sending rejections soon? Or would they wait until late June?
I saw on transfer boards their SIR deadline 6/1.
@itznatalie does transfer enrollment have an effect on freshman enrollment?
Not totally sure, but it does theoretically impact overall enrollment targets regarding college/department capacity, class distancing, and housing. Not all transfers come in as full juniors.
@itznatalie thanks! I thought you could only transfer to a UC by staying at CC/a 4-year for 2 years
